Surprising the kids with our first DCL cruise on the Dream!

Sorry for the long break.

So we hung out by the pool for a while and then we decided to go to the Oceaneers Lab for Sloppy Science. It was a lot of fun! DS12 and DH stopped to do the Chip it Golf first, DS 12 love golf!

DS 10 decided to go to The Edge for a little while but joined us half way through.

Professor Make O Mess was hysterical!

I made DH take this picture because I have never seen wine on tap before. LOL.

We had dinner that night in the Enchanted Garten. We loved our servers. Once again the assistant kept the kids entertained with logic puzzles and jokes.

Towel Animal of the night.

After the kids got in bed we went out on the balcony and realized we had stopped. I guess it's not very far from Nassau to Castaway Cay. I couldn't get over the color of the water. I wonder if Disney has special lighting to make it look so blue.

So sorry! I'm on a facebook break for Lent so maybe I can get this done.

Where were we....I guess waking up in Castaway Cay bright and early for the 5K that I surprised DS12 with. He was not super excited especially since we didn't pack his running shoes, but he was a good sport :)

It was HOT! and HUMID! But it was fun and we got a free plastic Mickey "medal.

The best part of 5ks is the celebration drink after! I celebrated with a delicious and super cold BBC. Yum! Then we played in the water for a while until it was time to go swim with the sting rays.

Lunch, the BBQ was delicious! I could even enjoy it with my braces, it was so tender.

We went over for our reserved time to swim with the sting rays. They gave us a little introduction and some education on the sting rays, then we suited up.

DS 12 was not looking forward to swimming with the sting rays, in fact he was scared to death, this is him trying to look excited.

We all went out into the water and they had stations set up to feed the sting rays. They were trained to swim up a ramp and over your hand to get the food. We were all in the water and forgot to take pictures of this part. DS 6 and DS 12 were too scared to try it.

DS 12 was pretty skittish the whole time, but he tried, the other two loved swimming with them.

Back to the boat. I remember it being super hot at this point.

They were passing out chilled towels before you got back on board. I said, "Where were you people after the race?!"

Looking back at Castaway Cay

You all said there no such thing as too many pictures, right?

Hey, wait a minute, you're not done yet, right? ;)

The beauty of joining late is that the gap in reporting isn't at all noticeable!

I am taking DS13 and DS11 on our first (Disney) cruise this October and appreciate your report! You have to frame the picture with the Disney pillow, it is absolutely adorable.

What did the boys think in the end? Did the cruise rate compared to Disney? I'm taking my boys on the stingray excursion in Grand Cayman and hope they are feeling brave that day!

Nope not done. Hope to get Pirate Night posted tonight. Let me know if you have any specific questions for that age group and I'll try to answer.

After a fun day in Castaway Cay it was time to get ready for Pirate Night. First we went up on deck for the pirate party. It was packed. We couldn't see the stage very well but they show it all on the big screen so we were able to see that.

After the pirate party we went and got family pictures done in our pirate costumes.

Apparently I only took one picture of dinner, lol.

Here are our wonderful servers, cannot say enough good things about them.

Then it was off to the fireworks

DS 12 said he didn't want to go and wanted to chill in the room. When we came back to the room he was coming down the hall and said he had decided to go at the last minute but couldn't find us and missed the fireworks, he was disappointed :(

The night before I had mentioned to our cabin steward that DS6 loved elephants and asked if she knew how to make a towel elephant. Also that night I accidently knocked the pig she had made off the bed and DS 6 was so upset. He begged me to ask her to remake it but it was late and I told him no way! The next night we came back to an elephant and another pig. He was so happy. He's the youngest and somehow he manages to get everyone to give him exactly what he wants. I think it's the dimples.

We had told the kids when we got onboard that we had one special time planned just for us and need them to go to the Oceaneers Club with their little brother. That is one thing we loved about DCL, all the boys could go to the same club which made things easier for the little guy. When we went on RCI we tried to leave him in the club once but he only stayed for about 5 mins. I could also see this as a negative if you had one little shy child and they had to run around with all those big kids, but for us it was great. And it turned out that he loved the kids clubs on DCL so much he didn't even need his brothers.

One the sea day we were excited to get some alone time by going to brunch at Remy's. On the way to dropping the kids off DH and DS12 got distracted by the Diaper Dash contest and stayed to watch for a little while.

The server pointed out all the places that Remy is hidden in the restaurant so of course I had to take pictures of all of them.

We decided to add the Champagne pairings to the brunch. The food and service were exceptional.

Look at DH's face in the background. I think this is when he was thinking that I really didn't need anymore champagne or I would spend the rest of the day napping. We easily could have shared a champagne pairing and been fine. Live and learn. I stopped drinking the entire glass of each one and only took a 15 minute nap after :)

Hello! We have so much in common!! I liked your TR!!

I also have 3 boys and have given up FB for lent :) Thanks for sharing your experience!!

The cool thing about being on a Disney cruise is that characters just pop up here and there. There are times listed in the Navigator that tells when they will be out and many times the lines are pretty long, but sometimes they just show up when you are walking by :)

We participated in an FE exchange, it was a lot of fun find the neat gifts each time we returned to our cabin. What was not fun was trying to deliver all the gifts with the kids in tow. They wanted to help which was great, but it's a huge ship and I was losing my patience trying to keep track of who we had delivered what and where we were going next with them "helping" me and fighting over who was going to do what. If I did it again, I would consider sneaking out to do it myself, or maybe sending them out without me, lol.
