I am going to surprise my family Christmas morning by telling them that I made reservations for 7 nights at POR in early June. My wife and kids don't have a clue because we have not talked about going. I hope it will be a pleasant surprise.

What a great surprise!

I'm surprising my family (mama, daddy, brother and his friend) about our up coming trip. Each person paid for their share of the trip. When mousesavers.com announced the "code" I called and was able to save each person $197. They don't know it yet, but the morning we leave for our trip, they will receive an envelope with $197 in it!

Those are great surprises! I wish I was related to you.

NCState, maybe you could find a Disney Store and get some of that money in Disney Dollars, or a gift card they could use in the parks and resorts.

We surprised my kids last Thanksgiving with a trip. We had planned it since Feb 05. We went to have lunch with the kids the Friday before Thanksgiving break and gave them each their special made Disney shirts. My daughter was so surprised.

It was great and I hope you can pull off the surprise.

That sounds great! I'm sure they will love it!

I remember in 85 when I was early in my teens and my brother was still a pre-teen (what's now called tween). My father told us we could anywhere we wanted for a summer vacation. So my brother and I started spouting out places we had been. My father sat there shaking his head saying "No. No." At which point we both said to him that he said anywhere. That's when he told us that we were going to Disney World. My brother and I almost hit the roof! We were so exited because we had seen the commercial and really wanted to go. Of course to us that was "wishful" thinking until we were told we were actually going. Don't know how my mother was able to keep it a secret. But she did. A few years later, my parents took us to Disney World again as their graduation present to us.

Now its mine and my DH's turn to surprise our DS4. He won't know he is going until that morning :teeth: My DH will be down there already for a business trip and we have already decided to schedule a Disney Enchanted Call from Mickey Mouse on that day for our son. Can't wait to see his face when he gets that call :rolleyes1

Been to Disney World:

I don't think I could keep it a secret!!! I'd be goin crazy. I need someone to SHARE with!!!! Even if it is an 8 year old. Tee Hee!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Good luck with your suprise.... We are going end of November and we are keeping it a surprise from our kids. Going to pack while they are in school and pick them up and head out to the airport. It is sooooo hard not to talk about it. :yay:

I say congrats to all who could keep it a secret. I think that would be very tough because most of the fun we had was planning everything as a family, although I would really love to do something like this myself. My idea would be to have everything packed somehow and drive to the airport and say "ok we're off to WDW"

Suprising our kids also for the Dec. trip. It's been sooo hard keeping it a sercet. I would love to have up big maps of WDW at the house and pictures of the resort on the desktop but being older, 15/12, they'd probably figure it out. We're going to tell them at Thanksgiving. We're going the first week of Dec.

*Thought I was logged in. Oopps.*

Will you marry ME? Oh, this is wonderful! My DH would never ever think of such a thing. The closest he ever came was telling me we could do anything I wanted for a weekend for our anniversary a few years ago. We went to Cedar Point in Ohio and had a blast. But, surprising the entire family with a booked trip? That's what dreams are made of.....

We kept our trip a secret from the girls until about 10 days ago. We told them because they kept asking if they could buy this with their money or could we go here or there? Well, I had been telling them to save their money for something else and they kept saying, "But Mooooooo-oooooom". So, one evening when they were being very good, DH and I told them that we'd been keeping a secret for months and thought it was time they knew what they should save their money for. They were so excited and we're having a blast trying to plan our days!

What great surprises! I don't think I could keep a Disney secret my DG/F and I talk about the trip everyday!

We took our kids to Disney for Spring Break and suprised them with it. They didn't know we were going on vacation until they got in the van and it was packed with all our stuff. They were so excited. It was so hard keeping it from them, but worth the payoff when we got to tell them. We are going again this Feb., but aren't surprising them. We're counting down every day....today is 141 days to go.

Have a great time!

Just make sure they have some input into what they would like to accomplish on the trip to make it special for everyone :thumbsup2 Here's to wishing you all the VERY best trip!!! :cool1:

I am surprising my DW and DD by taking them to Disney for Christmas. I have the disney trip paid for, We are staying at Coronado Springs. Now I am working on Spending money.

I am going to tell them over Thanksgiving. A friend of the family is helping me make a scrapbook with all the tickets and reservation information in it. That's how i am going to tell her what she is getting.

The only problem...I have to keep it a secret for another two months... :sad2: :sad2: :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

The cat has long been out of the bag around here. ;) The trip isn't until next summer, though, so I am trying to keep quiet about it around my dd's. I know they won't forget, but at least they won't be asking me "when are we going?" every other day.

I am thinking of planning a trip to BBB while we're there. :wizard: I bought some princess gowns from the disney store, and will just tell them that we might wear them to a dinner one night. Instead I'll take them to have their hair and makeup done. princess: princess:

What other suprises can I keep to myself, for awhile? Any thoughts.
Candace
