Parker is too cute watching TV like that! My inlaws have a big 5th wheel like that and DH and I want a camper but we are spoiled by their size and space, but we figure when we do go camping it will be with them so we just will hang out in their camper. DH and I also want to go to WDW camping and I told him I will not go for anyless than 2 wks if we camp b/c coming from Ohio it will take at least 2 days to get there and another 2 days back...so I guess 10 days at Fort Wilderness.

that is how we feel about camping going with them, but we are still looking at getting our own...

start out small with like a pop up or something...then work your way up.

we are going pop up hunting this weekend.

Dan said to start out small with a pop up or something. My suggestion would be if you know someone who has a pop up or another type of camper to see if you could borrow it first and try it out before you buy.
DH and I go to Canada every year with his family. One year his sisters family was staying with my inlaws in their camper because of the baby, so we took up his sisters pop up and DH and I stayed in it. We packed it as full as we could get it (because it has to be down while traveling) and still had the van full of stuff too. And it was only DH, me and our small 5lb dog. We decided then that a pop up was not for us--storgage space wise. Of course now we want a bigger camper because of the ones inlaws have but obviously not as big but we also need something to pull it with as our truck is a dakota and is not made to handle anything over 5k lbs and really that is not much of a camper. So we either are going to look into for the future either a travel trailer with a newer or so crew cab 4x4 truck or a little bit older diseal motor home (since we figure we will have the cost of a camper and truck--might as well put the money into a motor home because we would not maybe use the truck as much other than camping) Plus traveling 2 days to canada in a motor home is really nice for when you have kids instead of a truck.
THats our reasoning anyway. You have to find what works best for your family.

also good advice...you can get a pretty nice travel trailer for under 5k lbs...my brother in law just got a 33 footer for about 5100 lbs...so it is a reall possiblitity to get one a little shorter that weighs less...and the dealerships are making great deals right now because no one is buying trailers with the high fuel costs.

I lied, well i did not lie, i told the truth, but i think the mods deleted all my pics from the movie set...i had a bunch of them and i think i remeber them saying something that it was not about Disney so i had to stop talking about it..but i did not know they deleted it...there are abunch of post numbers missing from that time frame when i posted about it.
