One year ago yesterday, we returned from our tenth anniversary trip to WDW. Unlike most couples wherein the woman is the Dis-freak, I've been seriously jonesing for another trip. We had tentatively planned January '13, and so to shorten that wait I was counting down to when we can book ADRs...
Well, last night I was asked to select among some choices for my 40th birthday, in February next year, and Disney was put on the table. I snatched at it. We can't afford OKW this time, bummer, so I've selected POR...and now the countdown has substantially advanced.... *does Disney dance*
Just wanted to share the news...

Just wanted to share the news...

You may want to try the DVC Rent/Trade board. The points for OKW during the week are 13 / 14 points per night Monday thru Friday. You should be able to find someone to sell at $10/point which sets you at $130-$140 / night, taxes included

Congratz! And I'm in the same boat as you, my DW puts up with (what she calls) my Disney obsession ... I think it's just common sense

As the pp said, there may be DVC rental options that fit into your budget. If not, enjoy POR, the island pool there is very nice!

Never have I had a day like this.
We started the morning all Dis-y, I got to work to find my boss is already booked for the week we intended to book! This is only my fourth week on the job! So I called DW and said I wasn't wedded to the idea of being in Disney on my actual birthday. She calls me back ten minutes later to tell me she's going to book us in the week prior--which would hit free dining and save us about 30%. At this point I'm on cloud nine.
Two short hours later I find out my DW's position "has been made redundant".
Good thing we didn't actually book, eh?
*sigh* I have every faith in her, she's the most competent person I have ever met...but she's got to recover from this career crash and determine her next steps...one of which definitely won't be Disney in February...
