Hi! I have been reading these boards for almost a year, thinking of ideas for a VR. Now I have an idea and wanted to get some feedbakc from the experts - all your Disney brides and VR brides!

My DH and I have discussed a Disney VR. We were all enthused then other thigns came up and took away out attention and intention! We have planned a trip for February with our DD 7 yrs old. It's going to be for a full week in Feb - possibly the longest we have ever been at WDW and just us as a little family (we ususally vacation with my inlaws and sometimes add my parents to that!) So this will be a really special time for just the three of us. I'd really like to surprise him with a VR. I think he'd find it touching and romantic, given our journey together.

My questions - we are staying at the Wyndham resort - on propery but not property - one of those! Can we still do a Memories package? Secondly, would you do the Memories or would you price it seperately and go maybe the Swan Dolphin way or another way? I just want a pretty locale, some pictures, an officiant, and for it to feel Disney magic like.

Hi sweetie, welcome and congratulations!!
I will try to answer some of your questions:- In order to have a DFTW wedding or VR (even the 'Memories' package), the bride and groom are obliged to spend a few nights at a WDW resort ( I may be wrong but as of 2 January, I believe it is 2 nights minimum).
If I were you, I would seriously consider looking into the S/D option!!! (I guess you are not surprised I said that - right? :rotfl:) Their packages are an amazingly budget-friendly way of having a WDW VR.
Our VR in May took place at the Swan and we had the most perfect day and received from the S/D and JustMarry, the most incredible service!!! Certainly worth every penny!!!
Feel free to check out my PJ/TR - the link is in my signature, and if you have any questions about S/D events, please don't hesitate to ask. I would be honoured to help!!
Good luck and happy planning!!

February 2012? You might want to make some exploratory calls to DFTW to are if memories packages are even available on the dates you are going as well. :goodvibes

You are so right! I put in a call to them a few days ago, thinking it might not even happen. I haven't heard back yet, but you never know...maybe I'll be in luck! :goodvibes

I adore your TR - I read your PJ along the way and followed you! Not in the stalker way, but in that "I love weddings" way! We have been talking about VR for a year but I have been reading the wedding boards for probably two! Oh, DH, little does he know!:goodvibes

Here is what's amazing. I am going to WDW for my yearly trip to walk the Princess Half and hang out with dear friends I met on the DIS back in Jan 2008!!! Isn't that the coolest? We will go down as a family first, then my girlfriends will come down and I'll stay with them while my DH and DD go home.

I called Just Marry today and left a message! I hope something will work out - even something smaller. Hmm, I do have a resort booked still, and a reservation for after my DH/DD leave...yes, I am a resort overbooker - we have been offered Bonnet Creek for free, but I wanted to make sure we had somewhere to lay our heads if that feel through for any reason!

I was thinking maybe I'd look into the town of Celebration, too. Keep my options open!
