ya im super excited! its a celebration of my graduation from college! a lot of my family is going, including my mother, grandmother and siblings and nephews. 16 of us in total. how I've managed to keep it a secret I don't know im bursting!:yay:

I started planning my family's first Disney trip in November 2010 for March 2012. My oldest DS knew I was planning a trip, but did not know what date we were going. My DH and I packed the car that Firday while the children were in school. On Saturday morning we got up and went to IHOP for breakfast. Our DS's did not have a clue they just thought we were going to eat then going to the mall. While we were eating I handed our oldest DS a letter that talked about his upcoming 13th birthday plans. The last few lines stated, "We have been trying to figure out what to do for your birthday since you are going to be a teenager we will begin with...... A TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD!" :earboy2: He was too excited and we had to show him the trunk, so he could see we had packed. :car:

I am planning a second surprise trip for next March and once again my oldest DS knows we want to go again; but he does not know the dates. I LOVE spreading DISNEY MAGIC and JOY!! pixiedust: Our youngest DS loves Disney and still talks about it to this day. He is on the Autistic Spectrum with some delays and sometimes he does not remember things. My DH asked him the other night where he wanted to go on vacation, the beach or the mountains. My DS looked at his daddy and said...Disney World. I am so looking forward to next year. I wish you luck in planning and keeping the secret, because it will be so worth it. ;)

my oldest is also on the autism spectrum he has pdd. how did yours react to the surprise? was it to overwhelming, or was it ok? my son has a lot of issues wrapped around change and transition, so that's something im concerned about. im hoping its just such a good happy surprise he isn't overwhelmed. I chose to go the surprise route because of a couple things. one just for fun, and two so he doesn't obsess about it and worry and fret!
