I plan on surprising my boyfriend with a trip to DW for his birthday. Since we need to get vacation time etc. the trip isn't as much of a surprise as the details.

I'm torn between Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian and Boardwalk Club level rooms. We both have been to DW many times before, never together, and neither of us have stayed in the Poly or WL (he stayed in a Garden View room at the BW a few years ago). We both love the CR (in fact found out we both stayed at the CR at the same time in Oct 2008) but we want something different this trip.

This will be a romantic trip at the end of Oct. but we will be doing all the parks too.

What kind of suggestions do you diser have?

I suggest boardwalk. The perk here is that your so close to Epcot and HS. Epcot is my fave park!! being so close to it is convenient.

The poly doesnt really appeal to me for some reason. So i'd never consider that resort. Sure its nice being close to MK, but i'd pick Boardwalk. Dont forget, at night the boardwalk is awesome. street performers and games etc. Not to me mention the duelling piano bar Jelly Rolls.

I picked the Poly...it's so romantic and the monorail puts you close to the magic! All three are awesome though!

I say Wilderness Lodge. However, I could be a little biased. Wilderness lodge was the first hotel my BF and I stayed together at Disney. It was a complete surprise and I loved it. For some reason I find the whole feel of Wilderness Lodge very romantic. Plus, its beautiful at christmas time.

With that being said... It really depends on the parks you are going to spend most of your time at. If you will be eating at EPCOT a lot stay at boardwalk.

No matter where you stay, you are going to have an Amaazing Trip! :goodvibes

I haven't voted because I can't decide :rotfl: WL CL rooms are being renovated. Right now. We enjoyed our stay at Poly. Neither stay was CL. But we loved both resorts. BW doesn't interest me, I'd rather BC or YC. We stayed BC CL last August and loved it.

I wish money was no object so we could stay at those!

I would choose the Boardwalk because it sounds the awesomest of the three and it's near to Epcot.

The Polynesian is the most romantic of the three IMO. You can't go wrong here though.

Poly!!!!! Have visited but never stayed. It's very romantic and beautiful plus you are right next to MK!!!! It's on my top places to stay some day" list. Enjoy your romantic getaway:)

I like all three, but vote Poly. You can actually enjoy the proverbial "long walks on the beach" with your sweetie :). If not Poly, either of the other two are nice too.

I'd prefer WL. Long walks to Fortwilderness and see the wildlife along the way. It's a very peaceful and relaxing walk. Plus you have the boats to transport you to the magic. :)

I voted for Poly CL. I haved stayed there & feel it is beautiful, romantic & relaxing. I like the monorail to MK & walkway to TTC for monorail to Epcot. All of your choices sound great! Have a wonderful vacation!

I voted Boardwalk. Being near Epcot is great, especially if you're without kids. I love being able to walk in and out of the World Showcase after an evening of dining and imbibing. Great way to spend a vacation!

I agree with you as the WL has that romantic feel to it. I'm also a little biased as it was my GF that surprised me for my 30th Bday with a Disney trip and a stay at the WL for my first time. We had an awesome time. Btw: yes I did marry that girl...:woohoo:

Thanks for the replies. But with the poll results and comments I'm no closer than I was yesterday. :confused3

Right now I'm leaning towards the Poly, but I'm not sure. Arrrgh! I'm usually more confident, but this relationship is making me all wishy washy. I'm thinking about asking him to marry me  on this trip too, but that's not a definite.

Please disers, help me decide! :worship:

The good news is that you really cannot go wrong with any of those choices.

I voted for the Poly. The rooms are bigger than the other resorts, and the extra space feels luxurious. The theme is romantic. The Poly has my favorite pool and slide. The Poly also has my favorite restaurants. And it is close to the Magic Kingdom and the TTC.

Most importantly, for the special moments you have planned, I would go with the Poly because it is one of the original resorts. That means something to me. I mean, Lucille Ball stayed there. John Lennon stayed there. There is history, tradition.

I love that

Well, my 1st thought was BW -- so much to do and so close to Epcot, F&W is at that time too. But then I thought there would be alot of hustle and bustle there so maybe not the best choice for a romantic vacation. My 2nd thought was Poly for the beach (so romantic) and monorail. This was the only one we stayed at (not CL though) and although we really liked it, I can't say we fell in love with the Poly. Finally I chose WL. It is set back and not in the middle of it all, still close enough though. The WL just blows me away, it's so beautiful. There are so many nooks to sit and have a quiet moment together. I really like the idea of walks to FW and the boat to MK. It's also getting a rehab so everything will be brand new. This is where we want to stay next year. Good luck with your decision...

My feelings exactly. Oh and let me add, you sound like my kind of girl!

Poly always seems the most romantic to me - secluded, beautiful and classic Disney, with the benefits of "beach" feel as well. Coronado is a nice choice as well and for a mod price you get a great exhibition restaurant, fitness center, marina and bike rentals, etc. I wouldn't stress about the hotel though - just concentrate on being together and enjoying, and you can't go wrong no matter where you end up.

OoooOooooo......I'm hoping this is my dilema some day soon with SO, who's never been. Those are my 3 favorite resorts. When money is a bit tighter I go with WL, but miss the location. Poly is my absolute fav. resort, but I like the convenience and romance of BC and being able to walk around BW and into Epcot.

My goal, when I finally get him there is a split stay starting at Poly and switching to BC.
