Hi all

This is my first time posting on this site, altho Ive been addicted visiting these boards since I last went to Disney World in November 2003.

Im planning on surprising my girlfriend with a trip to Disney World in either Oct 04 or Dec 04. Im planning on 5 nites at the Wilderness Lodge & 5 nites at the Beach Club resort. Ive been saving every penny I earn toward this. Already have my 7-day Park Hopper Passes!

Was wondering if any of you had some interesting, charming, or just plain funny ways that you might have surprised your loved ones with a trip to Disney World.

My ideal would be to tell her a few days before, but that would be tough to pull off. I ight be able to, since we work for the same company, I could kind of coordinate it with her supervisor.

well, lets hear from you guys!!!

hi--what a good surprise!!! i would love that haha...depending on when her birthday or your anniversary is..you could do that as a present..like wrap a stuffed animal or something in a box with a bow...
or maybe do some type of fun scavenger hunt for her present..which ends up being the disney trip...or something along those lines..

or if u can wait till a few days before, go into work early and put something "disney" on her desk..

good luck!!

One of my friends did this for his honeymoon -- refused to tell his fiancee where they were going. She was able to pack appropriately because it was a summer wedding and, as she said, "it's not like we're going anywhere cold." Tell her to pack for a warm place -- and don't worry about letting her know the destination until you get to the airport or, if driving, you cross the state line into Florida.

Just one idea of many.

We surprised our kids last year, we picked them up from school and drove right to the airport. It was wonderful! It gets better every time they tell the story. :teeth: Would she like a surprise like that or would she need to be part of the planning?

Kalel777 - You have a heart of gold! I like all of the suggestions that have been given. This board can keep you from telling your friend because you have place to chat about your plans! You'll be less likely to spill the beans if you can "vent." Let your supervisor be your sounding board too if he/she can keep it just between the two of you.

Good luck on your planning & I wish you the best for your trip :wave2:!

I agree with RoyalCanadian.::yes::
How great would it be to have a real surpise trip that you don't know about untill the last second?!

Everyone would have a different reaction, but I know that I personally would love it was a complete and total surprise!

I think if you could somehow coordinate everything with her supervisor (and can trust the supervisor to keep quiet), that would be great.

I like the scavenger hunt or clue ideas too. Another idea is maybe to put together a cute little Disney bag to give to her the night before (if it can wait that long), maybe some kind of Disney backpack with little things she can use on the trip like a Mickey poncho, a pin or two, a few other small items, and maybe you can put the park hoppers and the plane tickets (if you're flying) wrapped in a box for her to open last. I think it would be fun to keep the resorts a surprise until you actually get there.

One thing I did for BF on a trip which he got a kick out of was that I booked a town car service to pick us up at the airport, and booked it under his last name. HOwever, I didn't tell him about it, I just told him we were catching a Mears shuttle. As we were coming down the escalator at the airport he said, "why is that guy holding a sign with my name on it???" Not nearly as elaborate a surprise as yours, but every little detail can make a difference!

thanx everyone for all your ideas. I love this board!!!

Ive been addicted to Disney ever since we went last November and stayed at Coronado Springs Resort. We had such a great time!!! Loved waking up early and taking strolls around the lake before anyone else was up.

Ive been to Disney several times thru-out the years, but this was the first time I stayed on Disney property. What a difference that made!!!! Now Im planning on doing a total Deluxe Resort vacation. I can't wait!!!

thanx again everyone.
