So there's an age difference. Big deal. I don't understand why age continues to be discriminated against when we've come so far with interracial and same-sex romances. If someone posted that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DiRossi split and laughed about it and said "big surprise, they're both women" I don't think the reaction would be very positive.

I like them both and thought they were really cute together. I've seen Katie on some cooking shows and she is adorable.

Of course its not really funny and if I knew them IRL I would feel bad for them.

May / December romances are fine, but personally when you start dating/marrying someone as young as your own children... it creeps me out

Some couples manage to overcome the inherent problems of a huge age gap very well. Many don't. I personally don't have a lot in common with men who are twice my age. Still, the fact that he has had two other marriages fail is a bigger red flag than the age difference.

I felt bad when I heard this story. Katie Lee was very mature and sweet from what I saw of her. She has been on Paula Deen's show in the past.

Well said. I think we all really need to avoid making assumptions, snap judgments, and disparaging conclusions about the personal lives other people are leading. We're not them. If what they're doing is legal, and in compliance with their own chosen beliefs and values, then it isn't anyone's place to second-guess their lives.

That never occurred to me. They have remained good friends and will probably not ruin that by a rekindling.

We just saw him in concert with Elton John and my husband and I both agreed that his coffee cup wasn't filled with coffee! It's sad, but he's battled booze in the past and I can't help but wonder if that didn't trigger some of this....

Honestly, I don't think it is Katie with the problem but Billy. What was this, his fourth marriage?

The last time we saw Billy Joel in concert he was obviously drunk. He said that he had a cold and the medicine had kicked in....Yeah, OK Billy....

Chances are that Billy could have fallen off the wagon and she has had enough. Honestly, age probably isn't the issue here. I just hope Billy is ok and isn't battling his disease again.
