All the "old timers" at my work are always talking about retiring, but then they never do. We've probably been averaging about one a year,if that. Well, yesterday, one of the carriers who has never really taked about retiring, comes in,in the morning, not in uniform. I guess he just turned 55, and started with the post office when he was 17. He has a wonderful personality, and is athletic and handsome (think Denzel Washington) He also has a beautiful singing voice. All of a sudden, we hear his voice over the intercom system, singing a beautiful rendition of "happy trails to you..". Then he came around and shook hands/hugged everyone as we stood at our cases, dumbfounded. Couldn't help but tear up. With all the bs that goes on at the PO, couldn't help but admire what a classy exit that was!
