Just when I thought any hopes of DVC were over for the next few years-- dh surprised me by calling from work and saying, go ahead, do it, but only if you can get BCV-- or "the one with the big pool, NOT the demented clown" as he calls it.

So we took the plunge today. I was so overwhelmed-- immediately having second thoughts as soon as I paid for it:eek: I didn't even think of trying to use points for our upcoming stay. I'm sure there won't be availabilty anyway since we're going in early September.

Thanks for all the info on the board. It really helped to convince us.

Congrats Neighbor! I just bought at BWV last week! We like the demented clown, LOL!

Call them back and see if you can make arrangements for your Sept trip if you can cancel what you have now. Welcome.

Congrats and Welcome Home, from our fam of 5 (owners of not only a piece o' the demented clown, but an add-on of it as well!)

(BUt is the clown really demented or is it just indigestion-distraught? After all, slide patrons come OUT of the mouth, not get devoured into it.... Something to ponder when Stephen King images haunt you...)

We did the exact same thing last Aug/Sept. We had a reservation at the Poly and decided to purchase. We couldn't decide if we wanted to give up our reservation at the Poly or use our points. Having never stayed in the villas, we decided to keep our Poly ressies but our guide did check and there were villas available at Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club and Old Key West.

Where are you staying in September? If you think you would want to stay in one of the villas its worth a call to see if anything is available. You may even be able to get on the wait list. Maybe you can stay in the villas on any of the the Sun through Thurs nights of your stay to minimize your point useage and keep your current reservation for the weekend. Then you can go home again soon because that's what its all about.

Welcome home!

Congratulations and Welcome Home.

That comment about the demented clown had me rolling with laughter!!

By all means call and check the availability for using your points. September is a slow time all around at WDW. You could do both, which we did our first trip home (4 at AKL and 4 at OKW).

Congratulations and Welcome Home!

Aren't husbands amazing? After years of trying to get mine to join he finally decided after our trip in June. We're now waiting Disney's approval on our resale.

Thanks for the welcome.

Husbands are amazing, he's very calm and collected about spending the money-- (which had been his greatest objection is it worth it??) when I've been a basket case since then. But everytime we spend more the $50.00 I get nutty about spending too much. I guess we all have our issues...

I personally like the clown, and thought BWV looked great, especially the chandeliers in the lobby. I think he's just a little warped-- he's from New Mexico where they burn a giant man every fall-- Zozobra (sp?) and I think that's had a great effect on his imagination. Everything looks demented to him, except things that are really scary. Needless to say, his favorite ride is the Haunted Mansion. Mine too, but I don't get all demented about it. :p

Julie,
I sent you a PM. I was away for the weekend on a girls-only shopping trip. I am so glad you convinced your DH, although it doesn't sound like he was such a hard sell after all.

WELCOME HOME!!!
