Surprise... It's Someday!! A Dec 2010 PTR!!

Just hanging around and killing time tonight. The kids are playing here and I am just trying to keep myself busy. I am just stressed tonight, as you can imagine and thought I woul read some TR and go to my happy place... at least in my mind.

If you are the praying type please keep Gavin in your prayers. He is not to have surgery till 8:30 in the morning. Usually he is first at 5 AM. So it will be rough as he loves his breakfast but can't eat or drink after midnight. Its about 2 hours from here to there so hopefully he will fall back to sleep once we drop Brenda off. We won't really know till we get to the hospital if he is oked for surgery. We hope so because we have seen a goo improvement in the sinus infection but the final decision is up to the anesthesiologist.

OK, I will stop babbling tonight. Will post tomorrow and let you all know how things went.

Tam, you know that we will ALL be thinking about and praying for Gavin tomorrow. If you are trying to keep occupied, I updated my TR last week with halloween costumes, etc., if you want to have a good chuckle to take your mind off things.

We will look for word from you tomorrow on Gavin. Give him a hug for us.

I'll be praying for you all. I hope he is wll enough to have his surgery, and that he does well.

Praying for the OK from the anesthesiologist, praying for a smooth, uneventful surgery, praying for a quick and easy recovery, and praying that sweet Gavin won't feel hungry for his breakfast tomorrow morning. Praying for all of you!

sending lots of prayers for Gavin's surgery tomorrow- let us know how it goes!

Followed you over from someone else's PTR...can't remember who though.

I wanted to read through the whole thread before I commented. Now I have to remember everything I was gonna comment about. We are going to be there around the same time. Our dates are Dec 5 -10. It would be so cool to run into each other!

Your family is very inspiring. I love how you take good care of everyone. You seem very attentive to all their needs and not very concerned with your own. Your hubbie sounds like an amazing man - willing to do 2 jobs and spend his spare time with his family. Your children are adorable - your daughter seems so mature and responsible for her age and your son is heart-wrenchingly cute!

I was so excited when the MVMCP worked out for y'all!!!

One of my tips for families with small children is not to expect the same endurance/stamina that they have at home to be the same at WDW. Kids that can normally go all day - crash. Kids that will sit all day if I let them - all the sudden have amazing endurance. Kids that sleep in a stroller - won't nap at all. Just be prepared for any possibilities and go with the flow. Don't get upset or frustrated or think 'I'm spending all this money and we're not doing half the stuff I planned.' Be grateful you're there and enjoy whatever you get to do!

One thing I could always count on is everyone crashing at night (even me - I get the best night's rest while we are there). Easiest bed times ever are at WDW for us.

I am praying for y'all today and hope everything goes as well as it possibly can.

Merci

Praying for sweet Gavin! Praying that his surgery went well and that his recovery is quick and easy! :goodvibes

Hello all! I have wanted to update all day but things have been so busy. First, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Gavin was able to have his surgery this morning. It has been a LONG day. He did really well! We got home from the hospital at about 3ish today and I picked up Brenda from my aunt that was keeping her. As soon as she got home Gavin played (low key play) with Brenda and they played in the playhut tent we have and were just happy to be together again. Brenda knew to take it easy on him. Tonight he is having some discomfort that even the pain meds are helping. He has had some tub soaks which help him a little. Hopefully he will be able to get comfortable and get some sleep tonight. His cough has also taken a turn for the worst. I am hoping that it is from the intubation (sp) tube. I know it has irritated my throat when I have had surgery in the past. Right now the kids are curled up to a movie till we can do meds and get them to bed for the night. Even the Peds surgeon feels he will have an awesome Disney trip... in both the actual trip being awesome and health wise. (The Dr just took his boys last summer! We talked about it a lot today while there was an emergency that put Gavin surgery behind... Gavin's OR was needed by another Dr) He thinks we should get another 4 months from the procedure today. That is really all we can ask for at this point.

One cute thing that happened this morning...
When we walked in to the pre-op they got Gavin a portable DVD and Toy Story movie. Gavin was in his happy place. I went out yesterday and bought him a new Buzz toy for the hospital today too, because I always get him something new to take to the hospital... I know, I know.. I need to stop that! :rotfl: Anyway, I go to get him into his gown and the nurse comes in. Gavin goes on to tell her that the DVD player is fine, but soon he is going to Disney World and he is going to see the real Buzz! We all laughed. I guess Disney is taking over all of our lives! :rotfl2:

Also, we FINALLY got our Disney Documents today! They were here in the mail when we got home.

Again, thank you all my loyal readers for thinking of my family. You all are simply awesome!

That is good news. I hope he has a restful nioght.
Yay for Mickey mail!

I'm so glad to hear that things went well for Gavin today. :yay::yay::yay:

Hopefully the cough will disappear soon. And you'll all be ready for a most deserving and magical trip to Disney.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for Mickey mail.

Thank goodness that Gavin got to have his surgery today, I am so happy for him!!

YAY for the documents, makes it seem so real doesn't it?

I"m so glad his surgery went smoothly and I'll continue to pray for a smooth recovery.

Also, I would stick with Mame Melrose if you haven't already made a decision. The food is very good.

Second, :cool1::cool1: For Mickey Mail :cool1::cool1:

I am glad everything worked out, I'm sure it takes a lot off your mind and he will be able to ejoy his Disney trip!

SO glad to hear all went well yesterday!! Now Gavin, and ALL of you, can look forward to and enjoy your trip to Disney!!
