In case you don't know what they are... they are the other half of our MVMCP tickets!!! The kids were so excited to see them today... ME TOO!!! I have gotten my first Mickey Mail of the trip!!!

Glad all your tickets are in!!!!!

I really hope Gavin feels better before Monday, I want you to have the best trip!!!!

Thank you everyone for the well wishes for Gavin. I am trying very hard to stay positive. I just know in my heart that we would not have pulled off this trip to have Gavin be miserable. There has been some pretty big hurtles to jump through and all have been accomplished with flying colors. I don't think this one last thing is going to hold us up. Even Murphy is not that mean. The really good part is he is taking his meds and LOVES them... but what child doesn't love that pink amoxicilian?? Some of his meds I really have to force him to take sometimes. Tonight, before bed he asked if it was time yet. I am just glad I didn't decide to wait a few more days. At least this way he has some time for things to kick in.

I must tell you, he was so excited for the Pluto MVMCP ticket. He asked if he could hold it. It was so cute, he sat there and held it till he fell asleep sitting up on the couch. I got it and then put it in my purse, but the ticket made his evening!

This just brought tears to my eyes. Such a brave little boy. And how sweet that he wanted to hold his Pluto MVMCP ticket. I just know this is going to be a GREAT trip for all of you.

I hope Gavin gets better quickly!
Yay for the MVMCP tickets!
Skip is alot like Jon. He doesn't say too much about trips, only every so often. Like recently he admitted to his friend that he really does like Disny and he really likes the parades. Who would've ever guessed that? LOL!
Usually he says nothing about the trip, until it's really close and then he will mention to someone that we are going to Disney"land"...yes, after all these years he still calls it DisneyLAND, Even though I correct him all the time!

your halloween looks like fun- the kids looked too cute! and love all the fall festival pics too!!

and LOVE LOVE LOVE that you got some pixie dust from Bill and Tracy- how darn sweet is that. but i have to tell you, i am not surprised one bit. There are some really great people here on the DIS, willing to step up and help out when possible and after reading Tracey's PTR, i know they are those kind of people! so congrats and enjoy MVMCP- what a lovely surprise!!! Thanks Tracy and Bill for spreading the magic- that's what it is all about!:santa::santa::santa::santa:

I hope Gavin recovers quickly and is still able to have his surgery on Monday!!

your day 5 and 6 look great- i love ice cream for lunch!!! i mean, who wouldn't? :confused3:rotfl::santa:

Ok everyone, think of this as Indiana Jones...its time for some audience participation!! :rotfl2: I have not put in a room request yet. In fact, we debated on putting one in at all. We do have the request for bed rails and a medical fridge so I am not sure if they count toward my 3 requests or not. If they don't... where would you request??? Just some info...

I think we would like to be near the buses and everything pop... but the goofy jet pool sounds good for the kids. Hmmmm... Then you have what floor should we request??? I was thinking first floor till I heard the stories of snakes coming in the room... and let me just tell you I am TERRIFIED of snakes!!!! Then I thought ok, go with the top floor... but we also have the double stroller to contend with.

So this is why I am wondering...
1. Is it even worth putting in a room request now??

2. If so, where would you suggest??

3. Anyone besides me getting overly excited right now?????? :rotfl:

I am sure there is an award to be awarded for anyone that gives me the right answers! :rotfl:
****************************************************
Want to post some pictures from our visit to the pumpkin patch/ fall harvest 2 weekends ago.. that is if you all aren't tired of seeing my kids! if you are tough bootie! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

So, I know I am a little (ok, a lot) late in replying to your room request question, but here are my thoughts:
Of all the times we have stayed at POP, our favorite location was bldg 1, 4th floor, pool view.

Bldg 1 was super close to the buses and the Main lobby!

The 4th floor is always a must for us at POP! At first I thought 1st floor sounded better, but then when we were put on the 4th floor I fell in love. It is SO much quieter up there! Not to mention that the sound of other people's toilets above me flushing is a bit much, and it happens pretty frequently.

The pool view was great too! Olivia loves being able to just look out the window and see the pool. Of the 3 requests, this is the least important to us, but we still always ask for it!

Also the bed rails and med fridge don't count towards your room requests!

Yay for your MVMCP tickets!!! That's so exciting! It looks like your kids had a wonderful weekend! They looked great in their costumes! I am keeping my fingers crossed for Gavin!

Gonna catch up on comments and then post a brainstorm idea I got!!!

Glad all your tickets are in!!!!!

I really hope Gavin feels better before Monday, I want you to have the best trip!!!!
We are so excited. I must admit, even I look at them several times a day! :lmao: Gavin seems to be responding some to the meds. Keeping my fingers crossed.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for Jon's excitement.

And :yay::yay::yay::yay: for only four more weeks. :)

Doing the happy dance here!!!

This just brought tears to my eyes. Such a brave little boy. And how sweet that he wanted to hold his Pluto MVMCP ticket. I just know this is going to be a GREAT trip for all of you.
Gavin has such a gentle soul...most of the time. He really does appreciate the little things. I think I could learn a thing or two from him. I really do think this is going to be the best trip ever.

I hope Gavin gets better quickly!

Gavin is showing some improvement. If things keep up I am sure we will be able to go ahead with surgery on Monday.

DisneyLAND!!! :lmao: That is the same way with Jon's mom. Every time she talks about us coming, its always DisneyLAND. I have given up on correcting her and try to get her to just call it Disney... but than again she has never been there, so I guess I can look over it! Besides she is almost as excited about us going to Disney as we are. She has really come around.

I so totally agree with you. There are some great people on the Dis and Bill and Tracy are top of that list. Don't you just wish the whole world could be more like the Dis.. full of people who care and help people out in any way they can. I can't even begin to tell you the ways people on the Dis have helped me to make this the best trip ever. Everyone has been so helpful with my trip plans and helping me "learn" how things are done. Heck, we wouldn't even be having and table service meals if it weren't for the Dis.

We can't wait for MVMCP! I am going to let the kids start watching some of the things I have found on youtube about the party. It is going to be such an awesome time!

Thank you. Gavin has shown some improvement so hopefully things will continue till Monday.

Thanks for the room advice. I never really thought about the "quite level". I am sure the kids will want to lay down while others are just getting started... And I never would have thought about the flushes! :lmao:

Thank you! We can't wait!

The kids did have a good time that weekend.. but I think part of them is still a little tired! Mommy and daddy sure can wear them out sometimes! :lmao:

Ok, this just stinks. I had a HUGE post for you all and then when I went to post it disappeared. UGH! So, I have to do it all again.

I came up with an idea the other day that I wanted to share with you all because it could so easily be turned into something for Disney... First, some background.

I am the Creative Activities Director for our local MOPS group. For those of you that don't know what MOPS is, it is a national organization for Mother's of Preschoolers. Our group meets twice a month to learn new things, talk about things that are effecting our lives and of course... our kids. This is all done with a Christian attitude and the church my family belongs to is the sponsor church. They completely fund our program. My job as Creative Activities Director is, for each meeting, come up with a craft or something creative that either I or someone I schedule can come in and teach. Obviously I don't get paid but sometimes it is kind of a job... but I love it and it is a great outreach for our church. We have grown so much and are up to about a total of 55 woman. Some come morning and some come nights... depending on schedule. And some come to both as both of the meetings each month has a different theme. No duplicates!

So I thought I was all set. Our topic for our meeting tomorrow morning is Children's Birthday Parties! I love it!! I knew that I was having my hands full lately with Gavin, other MOPS responsibilities, My families needs... and of course Disney planning. So I set up for a lady to come in and teach us some basic cake decorating... Easy- peasy! So, 2 days ago I got a call from our director asking me if I could do something in addition to this. She wanted me to spend 20 minutes explaining to the ladies how to use things around the house for the party. She was at Gavin's party and loved the TP party favors. At first, I thought she was CrAzY! I had no idea how I was going to do, in 2 days... on top of everything else I had going on with Gavin, family things that needed done, and paying attention to my Disney stuff. After I thought about it I knew I could do it all... somehow. So my next step was too look around the house and see what I had TONS of! HALLOWEEN CANDY!!! I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone! :woohoo: We had gotten so much candy at Preschool and Trick or Treat at the mall. We, much like most people this time of year, are buried in it!! So I got my behind in gear and this is what I came up with...

IMG_2535.jpg

This is a small version of this one that I made today...

IMG_2536.jpg

Then I got to thinking... I need one that has no candy in it... just in case someone doesn't want the chocolate filled one. So I came up with...

IMG_2537.jpg

Then I was washing dishes and came across some Elmo and Abby sippy cups. The kids are really getting out of Elmo and Abby. I was hoping I could come up with a way to use them, so I came up with this...
Elmo is on this one...

And Abby for a girl on this one...

I used cookies in the 2 sippy cups. So, I am all set, and I think they look pretty good... Then my mind turns to my happy place of lately. How can I make this something for Disney??? Then I remembered that Disney Florist has all those really cute arrangements with pretty expensive price tags to go along with them. I was not planning on getting anything from there, but I am thinking I may make one for each of the kids and leave them out in the morning from their favorite character... and it won't cost me even 1/4 of what it cost from Disney Florist. There is so much Disney candy/ gummies/ etc. that it would be a piece of cake to Disney-fy them! When I told Jon he laughed and said "They are POP corn... for POP CENTURY!!" Don't get me wrong, there things at Disney Florist are beautiful from the pictures I have seen but that would take a piece of the budget that is better spent in other places. So, if anyone wants to make there own and take, PM me and I can send you instructions.

The other funny thing, that ties into Disney, is I text a picture of all the arrangements to my director and she was amazed! She asked if I could make enough and set up a stand at the craft fair the church holds. She thought it would be a great way for me to make some extra Disney money. She knows about the trip and the tight budget we have. I was excited, till I remembered that the craft fair is Dec 4th... when I am away... at Disney. So that won't work. But it is nice to think that someone would like my work enough to buy them! She has mentioned making some for her for her kid's teachers. I think this might be what I make Brenda's preschool teachers.

Glad to hear your little guy is doing alittle better.

I like you party favor/ treat ideas:thumbsup2 I once used a popcorn bucket ( the round ones you get at a movie theater) and I filled it with yellow easter grass, added a couple microwave popcorn packages & candy pakages, and put in a gift certificate for a local movie rental place. I also wrapped it up with that clear cellophane basket wrap with a nice bow.

I think making something for disney would fun and cost efective!

I've lost posts before:confused3 now I copy before I submit, or I type it up in Word, and then copy, paste it over here.

You came up with a really awesome idea for your MOPS group - I *love* it!!! If I weren't already doing so many things that I need to finish I might consider making some of those for the 8 kids that will be going on our trip. Who knows - maybe last minute I'll decide to do it anyway, now it will be nagging at my mind! LOL GREAT JOB!!! :worship:

Those are great. When you get a chance, PM me instructions. I swear it looks like those cookies are defying gravity. LOL!

Love those ideas. They are awesome. I have been brainstorming something fun to have in the rooms for the kids too. I was thinking of having Dan sneak in before we do while we are the pool on our first day, and then maybe one morning before they get up have something there for them, but I am not very creative. I get the ideas in my head but can never seem to make them happen.

So how's the little guy doing? I hope he's starting to feel better.

Love the ideas, Tam...very cool (and smart to have one without chocolate too!).

glad to hear Gavin is on the mend- does it look like a go for Monday?

love your little arrangements- so cute!!! and great idea to us what you have.

I think the baskets and stuff you can order are so cool- but i hate the huge price tags- so overpriced. i wish i had a picture of it- i'll try and find one- but we did a basket for my mom for a trip we did back in like 2001. We stayed at POR and my parents funded much of the trip. So my sisters and I got a huge basket and we filled it with goodies ourselves. things like sunscreen, sunglasses, rain ponchos, disney umbrella, lanyards, pins, snacks, just cool stuff to use on the trip. even an autograph book and pen. some stuff i purchased locally that was disney themed, other stuff i had purchased on a prior trip that year when i had a business trip to orlando- so i stopped at DTD to pick up some stuff. now you can order some park stuff online at disneystore.com even like autograph books. Anyhow- it was a huge basket. we used that cellophane you buy at a craft store and 'blow dry' to make it tight- so it even looked professional. they loved it and it was much cheaper than buying one. we shipped it to POR and it was ready at the front desk when we checked in and they opened it right then and there!
