Well, the pin event people listened to the complaints about the Sept. pin event and have sent all the paid participants 2 tokens of gratitude for attending.

First is a Figment pin that was not available for purchase and not distributed to CM although it says cast member access on the back. It is the same design as the map completer pins but has Figment's head. They say it was LE 1200 and is only being made available to package participants.

The other thing they sent is another gift from the event. Apparently, they were supposed to be LE 1200 but due to an error they manufactured 2400 (aklthough the pin says 2500). It is the Spaceship Earth pin holder and the Walt with Figment pin.

I'm glad I haven't gotten around to framing my maps yet...now this pin can go with the others!

:D

Leslie,

Are you saying that you received a duplicate event gift?

In another words, you received one event gift (Epcot pin holder, and Walt with Figment pin) at the event, and now you have received a second event gift ?

Yes RobYn, that is EXACTLY what I am saying....they sent a duplicate of the gift we received at the event, holder and pin, AND a new not seen before Figment pin!:D

I guess that they gave you some "cheese" for all of your whining!

We got a knock on the door today and it was the Fedex guy and he had a packet from Disney for both of us. I could not get the box opened fast enough I love surprises. I got it open and read the letter and opened the event gift but could not find my pin DH got his but alas I did not will have to call but this was sooo nice to recieve this surprise Guess our griping about Friday was heard.Take care Brenda

Lord of no whining? That's pretty funny coming from you!!! More like lord of the boo hoo hoo...where's my villains chat??

Hey Leslie,

You must have received yours first since you're "The Queen". I haven't seen anything here in Florida yet.:(

Trina and I both received a package today via Fed-Ex but the box contained a letter and the same gift we got at the event. No other Figment pin other than the Figment with Walt pin we received when we registered. I am confused, is there supposed to be a second pin? If so, does anyone have a phone number where you would call? I kind of feel uncomfortable about calling since someone sends you something for free and then you call to complain that what they sent wasn't enough? I guess I should call and thank them for the effort at least.

Jeff

Jeff, Go through the packaging again. I thought the same thing, and after going through everything, all of a sudden the other Figment pin appeared. It is wrapped in bubble wrap like we do when we ship pins to each other.

If not, there is a phone number on the shipping label on the box...407-560-4804. If that number doesn't work, I'd try event services...407-827-7600.

Jeff is right... We should thank them for the effort. They could have done nothing. And it is great that they are sending the event goers the extra gift sets. Makes the pin we got with it a lttle better cause while it is LE to 2400 only 1200 people got it. As for the free Figment Pin.. That was a pretty cool surprise... Now I just have to wait for fed ex... Like Jeff said

Thank you Disney (and Event Services) for listening :)

We got ours yesterday morning.

I guess we should thank Disney for the 'apology gift' or whatever they call it, but what on earth made them think that we would want the SAME exact pin for compensation? I understand it is supposed to make up for THEIR mistake that was made in making the pin, but why not make another Walt with Figment pin & send that out to the people that were in the breakfast as well as the Figment 'Cast Access' pin that was sent?

This is JMO & not trying to get anyones feathers ruffled

To fight for your rights does not include any boo hooing.

But to "complain" about standing in a line at a theme park does constitute "whining". Hello...what, do you think that Disney or anyone should treat you special because you are "paying" for something? Take a good look around, to see the hundreds of people who are standing next to you and think about the hundreds that didn't get in to the event. Your place can be taken quite easily, and Disney knows it. Your money (or mine for that matter) isn't any greener than the next person waiting to take your place in line.

Ah, the rollercoaster of life...up and down...I say roll with it and enjoy the ride or GET OFF!

Was that over the top, I can't tell anymore...

LOOK HERE YOU OLD TIRED BLUE FLAMED SELF APPOINTED ROYAL.....

You didnt go to the event DID YOU?

You didnt wait in line for 6 hours to buy pins, did you?

The answer to this question is NO.

So stop being judgemental :)

I know you consider yourself royalty, but so far you are being a ROYAL pain in the %#&!

JMHO! :)

Just a little FYI Lord of the I-think-I-Know-it-All....

I had a great time at the pin event, even when I was in line at the logo store just to buy pins for you!

I didn't complain to Disney, but I know that alot of people did. There is nothing wrong with voicing discontent if you feel like you have been mistreated or if something that you have paid for wasn't handled properly. $50 for breakfast is alot of money to most people....there is nothing wrong with expecting to get what was paid for. And yes, we all know that there are going to be long lines at a pin event, but Event Services knew how many people to expect and the truth of the matter is the event was terribly mishandled. There were people in line 6-7 HOURS on Friday....totally unacceptable.... They promised paid participants first crack at pins on Friday and then let the public in to buy pins before most paid participants were through with breakfast. That's why the line was so long. Not to mention the fact that they let anyone who wanted to enter go to the breakfast, not just the people with paid credentials.

So, I disagree with you..between pins, food, hotels and park entry fees the pin people as a group brought alot of revenue into WDW that weekend. There is NOTHING wrong with expecting to be treated in a respectful manner in return. I realize that you have dubbed yourself the official pot stirrer around here, but this time you don't know what you are talking about.

Amber the extra Event Gift was not as an apology for the stuff that happened at the event but a way to make sure that since the edition size of the gift was messed up all the extras of that gift would be in the hands of the participants. The extra Figment pin that was the CM access one was the actual apology...

Ok, so it was a compensation gift instead. Still, like I said, why not make up ANOTHER pin, totally different, limited to the number of guests that attended the breakfast? Makes sense to me. BTW, Figgy...did you ever get your Palm Pilot back?

Leslie...I couldnt haev worded what you said better. ;)

Sorry, I don't buy Disney's attempt here. The right answer was give the money back. AKA 2000 DL Pirates Event.

They didn't even get the apology gift right. There are actually 2 different letters being sent out, and the letters weren't even signed. Some with the Cast Figment and some without. Now everyone is going to call and say I didn't get one, I didn't get one, so now the cast will be everywhere and it won't even be unique or special.

Epcot events failed at this event, period.
