My DH isn't excited at all about our upcoming Christmas trip. We live about an hr. and 15 min. away, and we have had season passes for 3 years in a row in the past. He is going along, because I am asking for this trip for my Christmas gift, but he an DS both have that "been there done that" attitude. I can't get him to talk to me about the trip, which is really dampening my enthusiasm as well. :( What can I surprise him with, that will make him a WDW fan once again. I want him to enjoy himself also. It needs to be fairly reasonable, because I don't want him to worry about how much it is costing, before he even has a chance to enjoy it. I have already planned two special days for DS(12), so hopefully I'll win him over. :teeth: Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Is he into nascar racing? My dad, brother, and dh all love the Richard Petty driving schools and have done several around the country. There is one near the Poly. There are different levels-ride along, drive alone (and several versions of this depending on how many laps). You go to "school" for about 2 hrs first, then do the drive. You get to wear one of those racing suits, have photos taken, and a print out of your lap times (if you drive). Its pretty cool, definetly unforgettable, but unfortunately not cheap. My dad framed his stuff, and I framed my dh stuff which is hanging in his office. He gets a lot of comments about it too.

A few special things my husband has LOVED -

-The Segway Tour at Epcot
-Lunch with and Imagineer
-The MK Steam Train Tour
-Cirque Du Soleil (He would see this every trip if he could!)
-Renting Water Mice
-Mini golf at Blizzard Beach and Fantasia Gardens (He doesn't play real golf, but he LOVES mini golf!)

It sounds like you have been there a lot, so he may have done all those things already.

And I also let him pick out some restaurants each trip - either some of his old favorites or new places he wants to try.

And, if all else fails, I tell him we can stay at the Wilderness Lodge again. That usually does the trick. :teeth:

Thanks guys for the suggestions. :) Your suggestions look great, but he would not be happy if I paid so much for him to do something that he had to do alone. :( So far I've decided on afternoon tea, at the GF, for just the two of us. This is a pretty big deal for us, because we have an only child, which means that we always do every thing as a family of 3. I also booked a Christmas carriage ride at FW, which hopefully DS will be agreeable to allowing us to go alone. I'm thinking of bringing some champagne, and chocolates, if it's just the two of us. On second thought, we don't drink alcohol except on very special occasions, and a glass at the tea followed by a bottle at night may be a little much for us. :headache: I'm also thinking that we'll go to Winter/Summerland on our last day. I think the theme will be best for the holidays. Any other suggestions?

water mice rentals? other boat rides? fishing?

massage for the two of you? segway tour for the two of you (while ds is doing one of the cool things you have planned for him?)? golf? mini-golf?

special meal? tickets to cirque? disney quest? a "non-disney" day at wdw (i.e. meals off property, a movie at the theatre, gatorland or other non-disney attraction)?

good luck and enjoy!

Lunch in the recliners at the ESPN zone. Based on your screen name, go when the 'Heels are playing.

(Note: I'm the Disney planner, and my wife is the more passionate fan. Go figure.)

I'm the Disney, and all other trip planner, and most definitely the most passionate fan. Go Heels! :teeth: Actually I'm passionate about my favorite teams in all sports. My DH just pretty much goes along for the ride on trips and with sports. Most men tell him he's the luckiest man alive. His response is, "You may not be saying that if you couldn't watch anything you wanted on tv." He's an electronics geek, so at least he's happy watching when it's on HDTV.

edited to add: It sounds like I need to meet your wife. There's not many of us out there. :teeth:

Our second date was a Monday Night Football game between the Steelers and Browns. It was clear that we were destined for one another. :lovestruc
