A friend of mine just returned from Disney and she told me that when she used the fastpass she got a surprise fastpass for another ride, how long as Disney does this?
I have had it happen to me; it is a surprise. Since we were not interested in the other ride and were passing near there, we found a likely pair (man with about 5yo daughter) and gave them away.
but the only place I've seen it was on Test Track and we got a surprise FP for Mission Space - no way in heck would I go back on that sucker, so we gave them away.
These are usually given out when the other ride has little or no wait. I think it is a ploy to get people to move from more crowded attractions to less crowded ones. When I have seen this, it is usually MS or Honey I Shrunk the Audience and there are short or no lines.
I didn't get a surprise fast path, but on Rockin Roller Coaster, we were last getting off and were offered the red carpet treatment through a special door to the front of the line. My daughter and her friend loved it, as did I.
We got surprise fast passes last week at Test Track for Mission Space also. Since DH wouldn't go on MS, I did it by myself and used the fast pass (I did the green). Cool!
I've gotten one at Soarin' for Honey I Shrunk The Audience, and on at Soarin' for Living with the Land, however we didn't use them. We just gave them away.
Just to echo previous posters in September we got surprize fastpasses for Mission Space twice at Test Track but both times Mission Space was a walk-on so they weren't really needed.
I have noticed that most people are saying that MS had almost no line - I am shocked as the last time I was there (Oct 2003) I waited about 30 minutes and that was during a time where the parks were virtually empty. Is the bad press that MS is getting making it a less popular ride? I would totooooally take advantage of that suprise fast pass though!!
