Surname not on ticket, fly in the morning!!!!

Hi all,

I think I have the worst luck in the world right now,

Went to check in online with virgin and mums wouldn't go through, couldn't understand it at all.
Called virgin, her surname is missing off the ticket issued to us by the company we booked through, budgetair.ie.

Virgin called aer lingus as they are our connecting flight from Dublin but they were closed......

Virgin have said that it is a name amendment and that there shouldn't be a problem, but aer lingus need to authorise it.......
They advised to bring a copy of the esta to the airport at check in and aer lingus will call virgin and the amendment should be able to be made.

I wasn't given a total definite answer and I'm literally freaking out now!!!!!!
Has anyone has any issues like this?! Will they be able to fix it?!?

Any help greatly appreciated x x x x
 
Oh Eva, you poor thing! As if you've not had enough going on!

I don't really have an answer, but I didn't want to read & run! I hope AL and Virgin can sort this for you tomorrow and quickly. I'd say be up early and get to the airport ASAP to get the best possible chance of sorting it before anything is said to be too late.

Good luck with it and I hope you have a great trip once it's sorted out! :hug:

She is probably busy enjoying herself. I'm sure she will pop back and let us all know how she got on once she has had her holiday. I know that I rarely spend any time on the DIS this close to my holiday and very rarely while I am actually away, I have far too much to do ;)

Sorry I didn't update the moment I got here!
I meant no offence by it what so ever and I am so thankful of all the advice I have been given.

As most disers on these boards know, this has been quite a difficult trip for me and I have just spent the first few days settling in and getting used to being on my own. (They upgraded me from a studio to a one bed so I am literally rattling around it on my tod!!!) I'm trying to stay as technology free as possible with the exception of fast pass+.

Thank you wilma bride, you were exactly right I've just not been on the boards x x

I was going to go through the full flight fiasco in my trip report, however, long story short, aerlingus said there was no problem and let us fly, we arrived in Manchester and virgin were saying they couldn't let us fly unless we bought a new ticket.
In the end a nice customer service rep amended the name for £30. So we got sorted in the end but it was very stressful.

Thanks again to all who helped me with advice it really means a lot x only for ye I would have gone mad, literally.

If this posts twice in different versions I'm sorry the wifi is in an out and this is attempt two.

Eva, so pleased you were able to fly and got there in the end, albeit £30 lighter. Hope you have an amazing trip - get yourself to T-Rex and have a Cotton-tini (if you haven't already). Please try and relax and have a good time; plenty of time to worry about things (and the future) when you get home. For now, just have a fabulous time and enjoy your well-earned holiday :hug:

Eva so glad all is sorted. U have a fab time. Whats a cottontinj?? ��

It's a cocktail at T-Rex - they put cotton candy (candy floss) in the glass, then pour the drink on top and the cotton candy melts. It's very sweet but delicious.
