surgery went well

I just wanted to let you all know that I am now home from the hospital. I had some rough time with some morphine and I was found unresponsive. But after some narcan and a different pain med I am doing ok. I still have pain, but am doing ok.

I HATE HATE HATE Morphine. Had it with my first childbirth - emergency c-section. I was totally hallucinating afterwards - scariest experience in my life, very demonic! I knew enough to know that the Morphine was causing it but wasn't responsive enough to let the nurse know. I had a pump that I controlled when I wanted more, so I quit using it. My BP started going up - really high, and the nurse, bless her heart, thought I was in so much pain that it was causing my BP to rise, so she kept pumping more into me. When I could finally communicate with her, I told her I was scared to death that demons were coming to take me away!! She said, "Oh, well, I guess my BP would be high too if I was seeing things like that!"

Next pregnancy, every person that entered my room, I made sure to tell them - "DON'T GIVE ME MORPHINE!" It was all over my charts!

I'm so glad to hear that everything went well. I had a laparoscopic Gastric Bypass on Halloween, and so I can kind of understand what you are going through. If you need to talk about anything that is going on with you now and in the weeks to come, feel free to PM me and I'll help you any way I can. Support is the best thing, I've found. By the way, it works. Since my surgery I've lost 46 pounds. It's nothing short of a miracle since I've had a condition that wouldn't allow me to lose weight in any conventional way.
