surgery gas in shoulder

I had surgery a few weeks ago and thought I got rid of all the gas that they blow you up with but this morning I was greeted with some more.

Give me tips for getting rid of this, it is PAINFUL.

I'm so sorry you're experiencing it still....its just terrible. Just moving around and it kind of worked its way out. Kind of difficult depending on what kind of surgery you had.

I had it with all 3 c-sections. It is the worst!! Do you have a rocking chair? That always worked for me - keep moving as all suggested!

Sometimes a heating pad helps as well. Hope you feel better soon.

Gas-X...and, no lie, when I had my hysterectomy I made Dh run to Burger King and get me an order of onion rings because they make me fart.

They don't insert the gas into your intestines - it's in your body cavity and needs to get absorbed. It can collect in your shoulder, etc.

I assume that DH got his revenge for the evening of onion ring induced unpleasantness he had to endure by putting on a Patton Oswalt comedy special the next night. I've never hugged a throw pillow so hard. I finally had to yell at him to shut it off before I popped a stitch.

If your surgery was weeks ago it isn't the gas they use to distend your abdomen giving you issues. That is absorbed within a few days of surgery. Perhaps you have an irritated nerve or it is intestinal gas which gas-x and walking will help.

Also initially I read this as Sugary Gas in my shoulder....which was very confusing.

How do you know if your gas has sugar? nope.
