Surf and Turf Disney Style…..30 days of food on land and at sea! 06/16 WPE

I'm glad you enjoyed your meal at Jiko and got to try the Coconut bread pudding...it looks amazing!

Yay on ending the day with a Krispy Kreme doghnut :thumbsup2

We had a fun dinner there, even though it was the end of part one of our vacation, but there was lots more fun to come.
The breadpudding was heaven on earth ...... so good! :cloud9:

We just love Krispy Kreme .... and since we cannot get them at home, we need to get as many as we can on vacation. :rotfl2:

OMG! Jiko looks and sounds amazing! I am not regretting not having it on my list!!! Oh well, tell me I will like Sanaa... it will be amazing too, right? ;)

Ann, Jiko was wonderful ..... I really hope you get to try it soon.
Hope you liked Sanaa ..... it is different from the usual park food, but we really enjoyed it the last time we were there. :thumbsup2

We have never eaten at Jiko, it looks very good. Tom's dessert looks sooooo good, I might have to go there just for that dessert!! I love the food calendar...very cute!

You should really give Jiko a try one day. The food is very good and the atmosphere at the restaurant is great!
We both were very lucky with our desserts and picked exactly what we liked.

Good to know that you enjoy the food calendar! :goodvibes

Day 9, August 21

Goofy's Candy Company

It was the last morning of the first part of our vacation and after packing everything up and checking out we drove over to Wolfgang Puck's Express. We arrived there 9.05am to find out they didn't open until 9.30. So we walked around a bit and finally over to Goofy's Candy Company to use up our remaining snack credits.

We were amazed at what counted as a snack credit. Here are a few pics.

Day 9, August 21

Wolfgang Puck's Express

After we had picked up our candies we walked over to Wolfgang Puck's Express for breakfast.

IMG_1059.jpg

It is our tradition to have breakfast on our last WDW day, even if we only go to Port Canaveral. ;)
There weren't too many people in line ahead of us, so we quickly got to place our orders, picked up our table number and went to find a nice table.

Tom ordered some Diet Coke, while I had some Hot tea and before we knew it our breakfast arrived.

IMG_1063.jpg

Tom had ordered his favourite again, Wolfgang's Breakfast Pocket - Scrambled eggs, peppers, Niman Ranch Bacon, onions, mushrooms, mozzarella and cheddar cheese baked into Wolfgang's pizza dough, served with breakfast potatoes.
Needless to say that it was as tasty as always and he really enjoyed his treat.

I had ordered my favourite, no, you do not have to guess, it IS

IMG_1061.jpg

the Smoked Bacon Pizza - scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mozzarella and cheddar cheese and Ranch Dressing. Who ever came up with this must have been a genius as this is a wonderful breakfast. I did my best to finish it, but I had to give up after 2 thirds.

Once we had finished breakfast, we got in the car and off we went to sail on the Disney Dream.

Welcome! I love a lurker who comes out of hiding! :goodvibes
We are both glad you like the advent's calendar. Tom loves to do them and if more people can enjoy it, all the work he puts into it make more sense.
:woohoo: I love to hear that there are more smoked bacon pizza fans out there - it's my favourite breakfast!! :goodvibes

I loved the snacks available at Goofy's Candy Co as well.

Yay on having breakfast at WPE again - it looks yummy! :thumbsup2

We were amazed that so many sweets were now snack credits. The boxes of chocolates and bags of candy were no snack credits in February, so that was nice to find out, especially as we wanted to take some candy on board the DREAM anyway. :thumbsup2

Woo Hoo - the Cruise reviews are coming :cool1:

Yes, Linda! The cruise reviews are coming up and there are plenty of them! :thumbsup2

Na the food pictures that are next except for Remy , I had first hand in tasting Cruise pictures woooooo Hoooooo so lets battin down the hatches and open up some pallettes here comes the food :cool1::woohoo::dance3::yay:

Day 9, August 21

Enchanted Garden

We had finally made it on board the DREAM and had been told that lunch was served at both Cabanas and the Enchanted Garden.
But we had to stop and admire the Atrium - it was breathtaking. Once we had gotten over it we decided to try and have lunch at the Enchanted Garden.
We walked down to deck 2 and got in line, signed in and were led to a table close to one of the windows.
And after we had placed our order for two Diet Cokes, we walked up to the buffet. There was a bit of a line but it moved fast.

Now let me see if I can remember what we had ......

IMG_1067.jpg

IMG_1068.jpg

Marinated artichokes and green beans, shrimp, and I think the meat was some kind of pork. Loved the artichokes and shrimp, but the meat was a bit on the tough side, even though it was seasoned nicely.

IMG_1069.jpg

Green leaves with dressing, forgot which one, but my guess is Ranch, and a Chicken Caesar Wrap. These were one of our favourite foods on board the Wonder and these were as wonderful. We both loved them.

IMG_1070.jpg

I went for a lot of veg that day ..... :rotfl2: and I have to admit that the asparagus was really nice. It tasted very buttery and still had a nice crunch to it.
I loved the sugar snap peas and carrots too. They still had a bit of a bite and tasted pretty fresh.

Tom's plate

IMG_1072-1.jpg

As you can see, very similar to mine

IMG_1073.jpg

He had the pork as well, the bacon wrapped salmon, some shrimp and some veg.
I really enjoyed the taste of the salmon I took - it was really well seasoned, just cooked a little too much.

IMG_1075.jpg

He also had some wraps and a sandwich which was really fresh and tasty.

Well, and we needed some of those

IMG_1077.jpg

Welcome drink - Bahama Mama! Bahama Mama, Parrot bay coconut rum, myers's original dark rum, creme de banana, tropical juices. Very fruity and nice and sweet, you cannot take the alcohol, right up my street.

Once we had finished lunch we went to explore the DREAM some more before we could check out the staterooms.

Next up - an In Room Surprise

:santa: DON'T FORGET TO OPEN THE ADVENT'S CALENDAR!! :santa:
