Surest way to book airline tickets?

What is the safest and surest way to book airline tickets? We will be traveling in April 2003, during school vacation week, and I want to make sure that we get tickets. We prefer to fly Southwest, but with their shorter booking schedule, if we don't get seats, it will probably be too late to book other airlines.

We have booked both on Expedia and directly through the Delta website for different trips over the years and have never had a problem with either. We use etickets so we do not have to worry about misplacing anything. If you know what airline is offering the best flights/deals then use their website directly if not then use Expedia to check out all of the flights avaiable for when you are looking to travel.

Hi poohbear2,

On Expedia you just print out an itentiery(sp?) and you are all set.

When we book through the Delta website they send us a sheet of paper that just confirms the flights we are on.

We no longer receive actual tickets like we did in the past. You just bring the printouts and id to the airport.
