Suprising the Kids

I'm so excited. We (DH, DD 13, DD 11 and DS 8) are leaving in 2 weeks for WDW and then the 7 day Magic. We still haven't told the kids. I think we have figured out a great way to suprise them. We are going to send them on a "treasure hunt" at Downtown Disney (Disneyland). They will have to figure out the clues and ask the castmembers in the stores for their next clues. We will have them end up near the bandstand and then have the band call them up and say something like "Nicole, Kelly and Connor. .. Pack your bags your going to Disney World tomorrow." I sure hope they are suprised. I have been keeping this secret for 12 long months!!!!!!

That is a GREAT idea!! They will be so excited. They probably won't believe it at first.
I'm surprising my DS12 & DS9 next year with a christmas cruise on DCL. Unfortunately, I don't have a Downtown Disney nearby to do what your doing. We are going to tell the kids that we are going down to Mayport Fl. for a reunion for my DH aircraft carrier that he was stationed on while he was is the Navy. When we get there, and start getting on Disney Wonder instead of a navy ship, they will be surprised. At least I hope.

I am SO impressed with your secret keeping ability. I would have an ulser by now if I'd had to keep something like that quiet for a year, especially since your kids are older. Mine would have found something by now to question me on.
