What are your best ideas/experiences with surprising your little ones? We are leaving in 10 days and my husband will be coming home from work in the morning around 8 am and we are leaving then. I thought he could be wearing our DD's minnie ears.

But I would love to hear your ideas!:lovestruc

4yo, it would be a good challenge to let them figure out where they are going. They may recognize things from a pervious trip or have no idea until they see a castle.

We have surprised our girls several different ways...one time I bought a huge Mickey Mouse shaped balloon at Party City and wrapped it up in a box. When the girls opened the box, the balloon floated out.

Another time, we did a scavenger hunt around the house with little clues and little surprises (Disney stickers, etc.).

The other one I can think of, they came home from school and we had the car all packed up, ready to go and asked them if they wanted to go to Disneyland. :goodvibes

I have surprised the kids a couple of different ways. The first one was in Feb, when I bought the kids blankets, Disney shirts and a stuffed Mickey holding a sign saying "We're going to DL!". They didn't believe us till we arrived at the USA border. The problem I had was with my cover story. I'm artistic/creative and spun it too well, to a point where they wanted to go to (grandmas house was my cover story) instead. I've learned from my mistakes, and this time got one of the Hallmark "Bugs" that I've filled with clues about where we are going (and they are pretty obvious too). This time the kids won't know till we arrive at the airport (we are flying down for the first time).

Last Friday when my 4 year old woke up, we told her that we had a present for her. So we went downstairs and I gave her a gift bag with a princess dress (we are doing the BBB today), princess t-shirt and autograph book. She was so excited for the present but after she opened it, I asked her if she wanted to do anything fun today and if she had any ideas. I was hoping that she would say Disneyland because we were talking about the autograph book and the castle being in Disneyland. But instead she said that she wanted to go out for dinner. Then I asked her if she wanted to do something more fun than that and she said bowling. :) Finally we told her and she started dancing and screaming saying thank you mom and dad! :)

The only downfall was that she was a bit overwhelmed on the way to the airport saying that was going to miss her house and dog but that was short lived and once we were on the plane, it was all good!

Good luck telling your 4 year old!
