Does anyone else do this? It's Sunday night and we leave for Vero Beach on Thursday and I am getting that pre-trip stress big-time! Almost packed, stressing out on getting those last minute errands run, praying the dog sitter doesn't forget to show up or get stranded in a snowstorm, worrying about how the kids (who are joining us down there a few days later) are going to make it to their planes on time...etc,.etc., etc. Is there a cure? Maybe MORE trips so it becomes more of a routine??? WAAAAAAA!!!!:scared1:

We were packing today also. Getting ready to leave Thursday morning too. I always get a little nervous before our trip. I am sure everything will be just fine. Just think of how much you will enjoy yourself once you get there.
Taking more trips could be an option to get more use to it. I wonder if my DH would agree to that?? :)
Have a safe trip and have fun!!

I wish I had some advice! I just wanted to respond since we're practically neighbors and are both leaving MN the same day.

We're leaving Thursday too (and so far it looks like Minnesota weather is cooperating) and I don't relax until the plane has left the tarmac. I'm all packed which helps but between work and getting last minute stuff done and worrying that my husband won't get packed, well I'm a tidge stressed too.

It's all good though because FL is like 50-60 degrees warmer!!!

Have a good trip!

Well, there might be thousands of miles separating us currently (I live near London, UK), but my issues are similar to yours ;) Will the ice and snow stay away to make an easy journey to the airport on Sunday morning? (back up ressie made at airport hotel for Saturday night just in case) Will my old cats be okay while I'm gone? Have I forgotten anything? I check into VB next Monday and I'm hoping for some warm sun :goodvibes. And I don't think it does get any easier when you do it more often (I was at OKW in late November and I have an Owners' Locker!), IMO you are either a worrier or not. DH will pack about 30 minutes before we are due to depart and not worry at all

DH is a quick and easy packer. I'm the one who procrastinates, and I hate to be the one who drops our dog off at the kennel. However, once packed and "ready" in that sense, I can sleep and just feel "good to go."

DH is the one who worries about weather, and plane schedules. He wakes up at 2AM and sometimes that's it as far as sleep for him. We're leaving for MCO early on Wednesday AM, but we're spending Tuesday night at a hotel near the airport.

I don't have any tips for stress less travel. We've been the way we are for all the trips we've ever taken as a couple/family over 40 years.

Bobbi:confused3

I think those of us who live in northern climates (yep, Minnesota here too) are always more stressed by winter travel. There are just too many things that can go wrong! I always worry until that plane gets out ON TIME! That seems to be a rarity around here in the winter too. They leave the gate on time, but then there is that LONG line at the de-icing station!

Have fun, you guys! We had our trip in early December, so I'm going to have to stay here and deal with the below zero temps yet. I'll be counting the days until March when we can go down for a Disney and Spring training warm up!!:thumbsup2

Thanks, all, I do feel a little better knowing I'm not alone. Bobbie and Diane, I always love your posts and appreciate your words of wisdom. Oshawa, Pootle, and SarahInMN, I hope you have wonderful trips and maybe we'll even see you down there! I guess it's not likely that anything will change the way I handle 'travel stress' but you're right, it will all be good once we get there. God bless and travel safely!
