So I took DD to the oral surgeon yesterday for the consult and to schedule her surgery. After we left I realized I had scheduled her surgery appointment for Friday the 13th. I'm tempted to change it.

I'm not really superstitious but it is Friday the 13th! Plus, I did have an uncle die on Friday the 13th which is making me question it.

I think I should change it just for my peace of mind. Would you?

Nope, not superstitious at all. I believe you make your own luck.

And people die on every day of the year.

I've actually had some great Friday 13th. It's Friday, how bad can it be?

But, if you are really freaked out about it, change it. The outcome of the visit will not change either way IMHO.

That's what the rational part of me says. :)

I agree that if it is going to make you (or your DD) nervous then you should change it. Personally, I think my twisted DD would think it was kind of cool if she noticed at all:rolleyes: I am sure it will go well regardless:hug:

Some people view Friday the 13th as a lucky day. Maybe look at it that way?

DD was born on Friday the 13th so it's a pretty lucky day for me. :thumbsup2

My grandmother was VERY superstitious with a laundry list of things we couldn't do--no shoes on the dresser, no hats on the bed, no open umbrellas in the house. It was exhausting trying to keep up with all her hang ups.

I see nothing wrong with having a personal superstition. If it gives you peace of mind to change it, then by all means change it

13 is a lucky number in both my family and DBF's family. My grandparents were married on December 13th (Friday). My grandfather and his sister, and DBF's mother and niece were all born on March 13th. DBF's brother was born on August 13th. His parents were married on September 13th. So when we started talking about marriage, I said we should pick a 13. He then said "A Friday the 13th!" We're looking at Friday, May 13th, 2011 now

I woulnt change it because I don't feel that way. If I were you I would change it because peace of mind is a good thing!

Something so simple as changng the appointment date that can ease your concern - no brainer - do it!:thumbsup2

If it weren't for those darned movies....

I'm probably going to change it to a Thursday so I can take off 2 days (Thurs and Fri, if she needs me).
