Supersaver rate question....

Well, through these boards, I've found out that Universal's site does not 'advertise' AAA rates when they come out. I need to call for them.

Question: How do people know what the Supersaver rate is? Is it advertised?

And when will the Supersaver rate come out for March?

Which is usually cheaper, the Supersaver rate or AAA?

The supersaver rates come up automatically on the Loews site. Remember that to book your hotel you are going to on the Loews Hotels website not the Universal Studios website. When you go into www.loewshotels.com and go to Orlando hotels, if the supersaver rate applies for your dates, it will come up. Remember that supersaver rates require a 3 night minimum stay. Supersaver is usually cheaper than AAA.

Next question:

I've already made my reservations for March 2009 via the phone. Actually, I called Loew's to make the reservation and they transferred me to the Universal Reservation number.

So, to get the Supersaver rate for my existing reservation, do I call them to modify it?

Also, when do the Supersaver rates come out for March?....

Is the Supersaver rate connected to Loew's or to Universal? I'm assuming Loew's since I would have to go to their site. Which, in turn, tells me that the Supersaver rate would not be 'advertised' or 'shown' on the Universal site. Am I correct?

Yes. If you see the supersaver rate come up, call them and have them change it. Supersaver counts as a qualifying rate. I'm not sure what Universal site you are refering to when you say that the rate would not be "shown" on the Universal site. Are you refering to www.universalorlando.com or are you refering to www.loewshotels.com?

The www.universalorlando.com site does not advertise the supersaver discounts or AAA or very many rates at all. The loews site does not usually advertise most discounts either but will advertise other specials.

My advice is just to keep checking on the Loews site or call them directly. The number they transfer you to is just the Orlando section of Loews. The supersaver rate is a special rate that is just for the Orlando Loews hotels but it is through Loews and not Universal Orlando.

The Universal site is just the Universal Vacations travel agency website. It and Loews are two different websites completely. It is misleading.

I was referring to the Universalorlando.com site.

So, if I'm correct....I'll have to contact Loew's to find out if the AAA or Supersaver rates are available....

Any idea when they will come out? I've had about 5 different answers from AAA to Loew's to Travel Agencies to various boards.

Update:

I just called Loew's to ask if the SS or AAA rates are out for March 2009 and they stated that they didn't give that info out, and transferred me to the Universal Orlando Reservation Center (and they refused to give me the number to this place).

So, I talked to the lady they transferred me to, and they stated that as of today (August 29), no AAA or SS rates are out for my time period, and that they would be out at the end of September (other staff there have told me it would be at the beginning of September). But, the seasonal rate had gone down by $5.00 per day for those days. So, she modified my rate and so far I have saved $40.00 (half a tank of gas!!!!). She also gave me their direct number (which Loew's wouldn't do).

My best advice is to look at the dates and rates 2008 thread on this board and see when the AAA and supersaver rates came out for your dates last season. That should give you some idea.

The AAA rate was lower for me than the SS rate for December. I say just hang in till they come out.

I have seen a AAA rate for club on the AAA website. Just don't forget to call Loews if and when you book using AAA so you get your perks.

I have called Loew's, and all they ever do is transfer me to Orlando. Every time....

I'm thinking about going to the 'Club Level' at RPR. I wonder what everyone's opinion is about which club level is the best ----- Disney's or Loew's.

If you want to ask questions about the hotels that are not in Orlando, they won't transfer you. Otherwise they will. The number they transfer you to is still Loews, it is just the Orlando hotel part which has specials such as the supersaver that the others hotels don't have.

Have you tried calling this number 1-888-430-4999? It is the Universal Hotels number.

I was given these two numbers; not the one you are stating:

1-800-273-1311
1-888-837-2273, option 2
