I think one of my problems with Man of Steel is that it lacked exactly what Superman immediately brings to mind: Truth, Justice, and the American way.
We didn't get to see a lot of hero scenes involving the little things that come to mind when thinking about Superman. It was a little too SciFi for my tastes; I mean, I know we have to suspend that a man can fly. And he does, but the rest of the story was odd. The whole Russell Crowe thing was a stretch, too. (I edited out some spoilers here.)
Someone else online they liked how they handled Kryptonite, and I'll have to disagree there as well, without giving any spoilers.
Exactly. I said to my husband after the movie that I felt much more a sense of those things with Captain America than with Superman. I didn't get that at all from him. This movie didn't grab my heart like others have.
