Supercallifragilistic-ADR'sApproachUs! May '09 PTR *Trip Report has Begun! Pg. 208*

Yeah, that seems to be a problem of mine on this PTR. :lmao:

2011 sounds like a fine goal, no way could I do it in 2010. Who knows if I could even be able to do it at all. :confused3

Think positively! That's two years. You can do it!! I've been doing a bit of research online and found some good training programs for walkers. There are also a bunch of really inspiring women over on the WISH section of the boards.

Thank you both for the Pocahontas info. I'm writing it in my passporter. Anna Grace will be thrilled if we find her.

Have a great Friday!

I'm just doing a quick post right now, but I'll try to get those links to you guys either later today or tomorrow at the latest.

All I seem to have lately is running and marathons on the brain, but when I say I have never run I really and truly have never run. I keep reading all these articles about how kids just know how to run and do it for the love it. Well that was never me. My one small foray into running when I was about 14 or so resulted in me tripping on a crack in the sidewalk and tearing my knees to shreds. I really want to overcome my issues and do this.

I am not a runner either. Ever. I think the last time I ran was in gym class my Junior year when I fell and sprained my ankle. :rolleyes1

I'd really like to get into shape though and I plan to have a work out routine once we move since we will have a gym at our new complex. I need something to work towards. I'm going to try to do some more research this weekend too. :thumbsup2

I would love to do that but it seems as though my knee is still in need of surgury. I will train with you and we can aim for 2011!!!

I Love your 60 day List - it is awesome and the pics are fabulous! Wow - 60 days to go. I'm right behind ya, sister. I got about 70 to go!

Exactly why I'm thinking powerwalking. You have to do a mile in 16 mins. or you get swept for the 1/2 marathons. I think that I read somewhere that should be about 4.5 mph or so. I'm doing about 3mph on the treadmill right now which averages about 20 min. miles. I think I'd probably be able to walk faster, as I wasn't really breaking any kind of sweat or anything, but again I need to get over my treadmill fear.:sad2:

Sounds great! I figure even if I don't get there for whatever reason I want to do the training as if I am. Reading about all those other walkers/runners really made me feel that I could do this.

Just thought I would join your runner talk....I told you I'm training for my first 5K? Well, I ran in jr. high (like 20 years ago!!!!!!!!!:scared1:) and I was telling my friends at dinner a month or two ago that someday I'd like to run..it's a goal in my life, well, a month later my friend called and asked if I would do a 5k with her and I was like what? :confused3 I had wine when I said that and I'm sooo out of shape!!! So I found on the web a link to a training program called "From couch to 5K" in 10 weeks! So, I've been doing it...it's very slow and I'm not so sure I'll actually be able to run the 5K (I just want to finish it) but this week I had to walk 2 min. run 5 min. (3x during the workout) seems easy, right? NOT!:eek:I'm wondering how long it takes to get some endourance? Hey, at least we're all moving, right? And I just keep looking at my Mommy body and thinking, it has to get better than this!! After 3 c-sections/nursing/appendix out....I'm not left with much but determined to make what I"m left with strong for me and my babies!!:lovestruc Keep positive girls...we can do it!!!!!:thumbsup2

You need to watch out for that wine! :rotfl: I don't even have that for an excuse. 5 minutes of running doesn't sound easy at all to me. I had to run a few yards to catch my train the other day and wanted to die by the time I hit the platform. I'll give myself a partial break because it was uphill, but still it was so sad!

I don't know if I'm daring enough to try running yet. I want to, but I'm think my body would be much happier if I dropped some pounds first.

LOL!!:rotfl:You're so right about the wine...but now I'm happy I'm doing it. I know, I agree, I need to drop at least 25 lbs. right now, too. I'm trying, I think the motivation for me is that my friend (who isn't a runner, either, but is in shape) is doing it with me. I'm not so sure I would be that motivated otherwise...:sad2:

2011 seems like a good goal!

WOO HOO for your 70 days. It's so exciting that our trips are getting so close!

I think just getting into a routine would be great! And thanks again for the links! :thumbsup2

Uh oh, that wine got you in trouble! :rotfl2:

I know I need to drop some pounds before I attempt running too!

I don't check in for a day and you guys are all RUNNING???? :confused3 What happened??? :confused3:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I know! Something seriously dark and mysterious happened on this PTR! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

What's this talk of running, LL? I was thinking of the Princess Half-Marathon myself. But def. not for 2010. 2011 sounds do-able....

I think 2011 is what we are shooting for. What have I gotten myself into? :rotfl2: I know absolutely nothing about the Princess Half-Marathon but I will research it this weekend inbetween packing boxes! :thumbsup2
