Supercallifragilistic-ADR'sApproachUs! May '09 PTR *Trip Report has Begun! Pg. 208*

I have a severe case of Did I choose the right Disney Resort-itis.

I am really doubting Riverside. I'm worried about the buses being too crowded and wasting precious park time waiting for the buses. But there is a little something that is keeping me from taking the plunge and trying to see if I can switch to POFQ.

I need advice.

Here is my pro/con list for Riverside. Of course it's in list form. ;)

Riverside Pros.
*The multiple pools. You know how we love our nighttime swims! Plus those POFG alligators freak me out a bit. :rotfl2:
*Boatwright's. We like that there is a table service there. When I looked at pictures of Riverside online, it was just heavenly. I don't get that feel with POFQ as much even though it does look beautiful.

Riverside Cons.
*Transportation. We like to have breaks but don't want all our time eaten up with less than stellar transporation.
*Too big...? I am worried that all the walking at the parks plus the resort will make us crabby.

Help me decide. Marc is no help, he's happy staying anywhere. Plus when I asked him he was all about CSR and CBR. So doesn't help to throw in more choices. :rotfl2:

I am a big fan of Riverside.:thumbsup2 We have stayed there 4 times! We just love the beauty and the peacefulness. It never felt too big. The food court is awesome. Boatwright's has a wonderful breakfast. The boat to Downtown Disney is so nice. Mousekeeping was always great. As far as the buses go, we had to wait sometimes, but overall, they were fine. I like the style of the mansions the best. If you have any other questions or if you need to see any pictures just let me know! I hope this helps!:goodvibes

An April 2010 trip now! Geeze LL, we're all going to want to be adopted by you and Marc soon. I'm certainly jealous ;)

Hmmm... Jess.... whatcha doin' in 2010.... say, April? :rolleyes1

I so love Sundays and LL updates! :) I am not an AP guru but that is my understanding of how it works. That you can put the value of your one day toward the purchase of the AP.

And don't forget that with the AP you can get the Tables in Wonderland card for 20% off your dining. :rolleyes1

I too love Sunday LL updates!

And ditto on the AP, as a matter of fact, does anyone know if she can turn in BOTH 1 day passes for credit towards the AP?

And with three trips, Tables in Wonderland would make 100% sense for you. It's good for 1 calendar year from date of purchase, I believe. Maybe someone can clarify that as well.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I would get the full 4 days/3 free for your package. Use the ticket once, then upgrade it to the AP. You'll only be charged the difference between the GATE price for a 7 day ticket and the AP!! Granted it's only about $10 per ticket, but that's $20 more you can spend on something else!! That's what I did when I upgraded mine in Feb. We had a deal that was free PH and Water Parks (an extra $100 value on the 10 day ticket) I used it once at a park then upgraded it. I was credited for the $100 "free" part so my upgrade only cost me $145 (ish) instead of $245!! The only thing that could have burned me is if I had used one of the WP options I'd have ony been able to upgrade to a Premium AP... but since I hadn't, I was able to get a regular one:banana:

Paula

:rotfl2: Ok, I'm not sure what all I just read. BUT, when I read this I remembered that the 4/3 deal is for tickets as well and it would make sense to buy the 4 days, get 7 and then only pay for the price between the 7 days and the AP, even though you'd only paid for 4 days.

I must stop thinking about this. It's giving me a headache.

LOVE the bag, LL! Is that a green MH? I can't tell w/my screen. Uber cute! :thumbsup2

Okay. I will reply to everyone later but I have to make this quick since Desperate Housewives is about to start!

Explain Tables in Wonderland, how does that compare to the Dining Plan....???

If everyone is getting an AP, I want one, too. :(

Okay, LL, remind me what kind of camera you got Marc -- I remember you posted a picture of it awhile back, but I am too lazy to go search. I just spent way too much time on c-net looking at digital cameras, and my head is spinning. I need help!

You will be glad you stuck with POR---it is beautiful and that is where you want to stay!!! You will enjoy it!!!!

ANOTHER trip to look forward to???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I'm SO jealous---sounds fun!

Costs $60 and gives you 20% off all meals (including alcohol) at participating restaurants (of which there seem to be quite a few).

I don't think you would do both dining plan and this discount. I'm sure there must be somewhere on the internet that does an analysis on the pros/cons.

Here's some more info:

He really loves it. If you look up that model on Amazon, Julie Neal has a great review of it. :thumbsup2

:lmao: Don't be jealous!

Your kitties are adorable!

Love the new couch!

And I like the new camera. The photos look great to me!

PS- I love your toiletry bag... especially the photo of Marc holding it up for the photo. You're pulling him into the DIS slowly but surely!!
I really am pulling him in. I am so overwhelmed by this AP and Tables in Wonderland stuff, I need to do some research!

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:
I'm so glad you didn't switch!!!

Boy I better watch myself... if you all aren't as enamored as me with AK after dark... I'm gonna lose all my credibility:sad2:

That is SOOOOO Cute!! I want one!!

I just Love this pic!!

Paula
Okay. So you are saying keep the full tickets that we had planned on and just apply it to the AP....?? Sorry, I'm slow today. :rotfl2:

AK really IS awesome at night. It just feels like a completely different atmosphere than during the day (to me at least), and its lit up all pretty. :lovestruc I think that it has EMH on our arrival day in February, and I'm sooo excited. I can't remember if you did or liked EE, but it's really cool at night!

I'm so glad that you decided to stick with POR, it really is a beautiful resort. I'm sure you will be able to find lots of light fixtures, too. ;)

I got DBF, Charles, a camera for Christmas, too, and I am having a hard time not saying anything. The only thing holding me back is that he has the uncanny ability to guess what I bought him.

I love the pictures of your kitties. I love cats, but I (along with my dad, sister, and brother) am allergic, plus I have a dog, plus Charles doesn't really like or care for cats, so even if I were dog-less and not allergic, I wouldn't be able to have one, no matter what my living situation. I will keep myself content with the pictures of your cuties.
I'm much more of a cat person, I don't mind dogs but I like small dogs much better.

OOOH can you have some musings about MY Disney wardrobe? I'm going in less than 2 months and I HATE that I can't come up with a wardrobe plan. I'm literally going to have to wait until that week and check the weather report! :scared1:

So glad you decided to go with the AP. I'll let you know how it goes when I purchase mine. I'm a little nervous about the whole process.:scared:
I would love to have some wardrobe musings on your behalf as well. :thumbsup2 I am overwhelmed by the whole process so I am glad you are going first. ;) :rotfl:

Congrats on the AP!
Thank you!!

Thank you so much, I think it will be a good choice for us.

Thanks for putting in the link, I meant to do that! It's actually a teal Mickey Head. I didn't like the shade of lime so I went with Teal. I am totally off to do more research on all my options!

Thanks julez, I get it now ;) I subbed to the new thread :thumbsup2

Yeah Jackie! Where have you been??

Thank you so much, I have an insane amount of subscriptions too! :rolleyes1

Thanks, LL. I think I want something higher than that, but not an SLR like you have. Can you find me a camera made by Canon or Sony with between 8 and 10 megapixels? I want a pretty good-sized viewfinder that takes good indoor and outdoor shots.

Hi CP, we've always had Canon's, particularly the power shots and love them. I have a 6.7 megapixel, but they just came out with an 8.0 and 10.0 megapixel. Nice compact size and come in pink, blue, gold, silver and black. They have them on sale at bestbuy right now for $189.99 for the 8.0
Here's a view:

This is more the style we have, with the grip on the side (not the compact version), they're $149.99 with free shipping and a free 4 GB memory card:

Hope that helps!

How much do you want to spend?? If you want to PM me that's fine. I will do some research for you. :goodvibes

Between $150 and $250.

Do you have any thoughts on wearing jeans at Disney? I'm thinking that I may need to bring jeans and I'm further thinking that they won't be that comfy walking around all day :headache:

The Elph is a great camera in that price range (someone else posted it). My only advice is to go a store and try them out. For instance, the Elph takes great pics but that face recognition thing it has going on drives me nuts. My inlaws just got one and I took some pics from them at Thanksgiving. The little "face box" jumps around the screen and doesn't always pick up on people's faces. BUT the pics were really clear.

Oh and unless you are making poster sized prints- don't spend the extra money on a 10 megapixel. 8 will be perfectly clear in even 8X10s
