I'm so sorry it's finally happened, but at least you're not letting it spoil your plans. Get to the unemployment website right away. It takes a few weeks before it kicks in. How do I know? DH was on unemployment last year. Is the union able to give you anything? When I belonged to the IBEW (for 30 years) we had nothing to provide for us in case of a lay-off or strike. Florida is a Right to Work state where the unions don't carry much weight.

Thanks Debbie, and everyone else, the union (United Steelworkers) is doing nothing. When we left yesterday (Sunday) we heard the company had actually turned down more orders.
