My daughter has informed me that while we are at Walt Disney World she wants to celebrate her "Super Star Birthday." Apparently a "Super Star Birthday" is when you turn the age of the day of your birthday. For example, my daughter will be turning 13 on December 13. So not only will this birthday make my little girl an official teenager, but it is her "Super Star Birthday." Sounds like our family should do something extra special to celebrate this special Birthday. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

My middle child just turned 7. We recently just moved to Orlando, so this was our first birthday w/o family. We started the morning out with a treasure hunt. We bought gold coins from Walmart and her older (12) Sister wrote the clues. they were hints for what we were doing next. We told her we were going swimming at Gaylord Palms(this was the day before her actual birthday). We got to Gaylord while the younger kids swam with my mom ,who was in town, we snuck upstairs and decorated a suite. We threw a few gold coins outside in the hallway to see if she would notice. We went back downstairs ,told the kids that dad had gotten a key to a suite so nana could see one ( dad works there). We all went upstairs, gave Maddy the room key so she could go in first. She spooted the gold coins and thought it was weird :smooth: When she opened the door we shot party poppers. We let her choose where to go to dinner. TRhat night we decorated our SUV. It said Happy Birthday Maddy! On the back window it said Honk for Maddy's 7th birthday!!! That was great. On the way to Ohanas for breakfast we received several honks and she loved it!!! We had a character breakfast. The sisters all wore shirts ,that they made ,saying we are celebrating Maddy's birthday. She had her own special shirt. Then off to the water park with a special birthday girl badge on her swimsuit. It was a really wonderful experience. I got lots of ideas from here. :cheer2:

Take your daughter to city hall in disney world and tell them its her birthday, they will give her a happy birthday button to wear all day. Make resv. at chef mickeys at the comtempory resort. You could take the monorial from the park to chef mickey for a character dinner and let them know when you check in that its her birthday. They will announce it and sing h.b. to her while she blows out the decorated cupcake for her. They will also give her a birthday place-mat. Very good picture op.to take to remember this special day. Everywhere she goes that day cm's will wish her happy birthday. Whatever you do finish with fireworks by the castle, telling her that dreams do come true. :cheer2:

My birthday is 3 weeks before our trip. Can I still request a birthday pin at City Hall or do I have to be there on the actual day of my birthday?

If it is a matter of opinion, I say YES YOU CAN. Why not? We are actually celebrating our 15th Wedding Anniversary on our December cruise, and our anniversary was in June.

Since your Daughter will be celebrating that "Super Star Birthday" I would let the resort know that. When we stayed this past Nov. at Pop Century my little sister got a treat. It was our 3rd day there and after a long day at MK we came back to our room and there were 3 balloons and a birthday card signed by Mickey and Minnie!!!

When we checked in the CM had wished her a Happy belated Birthday (its in Aug) which was weird but how she loved it. The balloons lasted a few days and she kept the card. So I would call the resort directly and let them know.

It seems like every board I go on I keep reading this same post! :sad2:

Thanks. That's what I thought too. I'm certainly not there to abuse that they hand out a special pin or special treatment, we just couldn't make our trip on the exact day of my birthday. I was just concerned that they would ask for ID or something. :wizard:

WDW1stTimers: I apologize for going overboard. :guilty: I am the Queen of forgeting to celebrate special events, and didn't want to miss this one. I wanted as many suggestions as people were willing to give, and truly didn't know which place would get the most suggestions. :hyper2: Do you have a suggestion? :listen:

Please don't be so harsh.

It's not a big deal. I'm just kidding around. No harm is done! :flower: :flower:

Thanks. I was worried. I am new to the boards and thought, here is my first scolding.

BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD GIRL! :rotfl2: Yeah right....as if I'm going to B**CH about something stupid like that. I'm just teasing you. :teeth:

Okay, now that I have taken my scolding , it's your turn. Any suggestions for celebrating my daughter's special birthday? :mickeybar

I'm prob. the worst person to ask since I haven't done Disney yet, but we too are celebrating my daughters birthday too. I know that I made up a huge gift basket just filled with disney stuff in it and I'm going to ask the front desk in our resort to deliver it to the room. (Also planning on tipping the person very well too). Give me some time on this and I'm sure I will come up with some stuff.
Have you found anything that anyone said that seems to stick out as being pretty cool? If so...what was it?

Talk to you soon

Now that is a cool idea. And you say you're not the one to ask. I am going to use your idea. Thanks. :cool1:

Mostly suggestions to make reservations for the Wishes Cruise or the Illuminations Cruise. Or decorating the room and the door, which I have done in the past (I actually decorated while the kids were sleeping -- have you ever tried blowing up balloons at 3:00 am?). Character meals, but no suggestions on which ones would be good. Thinking about the Castle, since she is a princess. princess:
