Super Soap Weekend affect the previous week?

Hey everyone. Anyone been the week leading up to "Super Soap Weekend"? Does it increase the crowds at all?

I'm planning on being out of there either the Weds or Thur before (8th or 9th) and was wondering if anyone had any advice.
