Super Soap Weekend 2008?

Hi All...I was wondering if any Dis Soap Fans get together's are planned? I am coming with my niece and thought it would be fun if there was get together to talk Disney and Soaps

Ohh, I'm just so sad about Greg, for us and for him. That sure doesn't feel good when you feel rejected, especially by people you work for, and don't know why. Is it possible they are thinking of getting rid of his character Lucky so don't want to promote him too much? And, don't tell me he's suddenly a vet(compared to newbies they are pushing) and too old? He's such a great guy, what could it possibly be. And, why wouldn't they want the popular actors people love who present themselves in such a great manner on behalf of the show? So much better than some we've discussed before who leave fans disappointed. I'm just not all that excited about SSW anymore, our 10 day Disney trip, YES!!!, but SSW not so much at the moment.

But, I bet Kelly would remember our names, too! What if Kelly gets the outs she wants, which I would expect would happen because they want to keep her and I thought they'd promised her that to get her to stick around long term, then might they add someone else last minute and ask Greg? Do you think that's possible and something to hope for? Not for Kelly not to come, but if she can't, Greg to take her place?

One other thing, I thought the reason they moved ssw a week later was that they were having trouble getting confirmations from people for the early week and had to move it. That doesn't make any sense anymore, seeing that they are still waiting on confirmations, etc.

Any news yet on Brandon Barash or Michael E. Knight/AMC? Jacob Young? Or is he already a not because of new baby?

I'm sad for Greg too. He's such a nice guy that I'd rather have him out of all the guys combined on GH to represent the males of the show at SSW. No, they're not getting rid of Lucky any time soon...though I know there's at least one person on the ABC brass who isn't a fan of Greg's and considers Jonathan Jackson to be the one and only Lucky. I never knew JJ, but I know Greg and I wouldn't want JJ back if it meant Greg going away. I've been in a funk too since this SSW stuff went down and now I really just don't care at the moment. I'll come out of it, but my main two people that I root for are Greg and Kelly.

I know Kelly has outs in her contract, but GH doesn't have to allow them. They've already denied her so many acting gigs because they claimed they needed her around story wise and wound up never using her. The same with Greg. During the last season of Charmed, they wanted Greg back to appear in 8 episodes of the final season, but GH wouldn't let him. Considering how long they'd have to let Kelly go for, I don't know if GH is likely to sign off on a project that long, especially when Kelly is in a major story right now and there is a lot happening between Sam/Jerry, Sam/Alexis (good stuff coming up), and Sam/Lucky (they finally have their ILY's). I think if GH is willing to give Kelly the time off, she would in a heart beat give her invite to Greg, but it doesn't work that way and Kelly knows that. Last year, NLG wanted to give up her Daytime Emmy pre-nom for Kelly because NLG didn't realize that Kelly had more material than her when she submitted herself.

The RSVP date is today. Hopefully Kelly got the news that she wants. When I spoke with Jacob last month, he said that he definitely was not going to SSW because his son is being born around that time. I hope that answers some of your questions.

I read at Studios Central that supposedly Sherri Shepherd (The View) was confirmed on the official website as attending again this year but I couldn't find it. It wouldn't surprise me if she was attending again. She's the best choice, I think, of any of the View ladies to attend. Whoopi's too big of a name (although I thought the same of Rosie and they sent her in 2006), Joy and Barbara probably have no interest and unfortunately, I don't see Elisabeth as even remotely the right choice.

I know that Sherri Shepherd and Sonya Eddy are very good friends in real life. Sherri even stopped by Sonya's FCW event as a surprise guest.

Yeah...it's true. There's a few ways that she could be written out. The trick is to be able to pitch those ideas to TIIC and have them agree to it. I'm torn though. I want Kelly at SSW, but I want her to be able to do other projects. It would be nice if GH agreed to one of her outs instead of turning them all down.

I'm just happy Rick Hearst decided to resign with the show. That would've been an amazing talent lost if he didn't. Rick is such a sweetie and adores his fans. He's probably the only person on GH who is more of a talker than Kelly, lol.

She's mine too. I can't picture SSW without her. Kelly rocks. She is just very generous when it comes to her fans. Last year I got fastpasses on both days for her...I'd rather see her and b.s. with her up there than see someone else, you know?

Just passing this along to AMC fans who like Chrisell Strouse:

Chrishell will be appearing at the World of Disney NYC store on October 2nd for an evening event in support of Caroline Kennedy's charity SHOP FOR CLASS. This event raises money specifically for libraries within the NYC Public Schools.

Disney (Bob Iger) received a call from Caroline Kennedy to ask for Disney's help out to make it a success so Chrishell has agreed to participate in the event.

I don't know what time the event is, but I know she has to be there by like 5-6pm because she is out of AMC by 4pm.

I've come to the conclusion that the people sending out the invites are @$$hol3s. This would also explain why Greg didn't get an invite either.

JJ was great when he was there, but he left and he's just not Lucky to me anymore and I'd be very upset if they brought him back to play Lucky. I hate it when I hear rumors that he's coming back though I'd really find it hard to believe he'd even want to. I think he'd have to be kind of desparate to come back now and have to kick another actor out to have his spot. Plus, it's got to not feel very good for Greg to ever hear that stuff! Do you think if Kelly didn't come to ssw, they'd choose someone to fill that spot or would they just have less? I wonder if they'd turn her request down just to get her to come to ssw? Really, the more they turn her down, the more likely she is to walk next time her contract is up, as she won't be trusting anymore, no matter how much she loves being there! It would sort of serve them right though. I just do not understand them and really get upset with some of the choices they make and try to force on us, telling us who we should like, etc...

We talked to her husband a while and really like him a lot, he was quite friendly. She just seems so sweet, so can you spill why you don't care for her at all? We can keep a secret! I used to love JJ as Lucky, but I never met him or knew him, so I dunno...it's just not the same for me. Greg is Greg to me. It's hard to believe anyone can't like him. He's such a professional - unlike some people on that show. LOL. If Kelly chose not to come to SSW, they wouldn't fill the void. I'm thinking Kelly will wind up being on the final list. I think she said something about RSVPing anyway just in case. Kelly is realistic and knows that the chances of GH approving it are slim. In the event they do approve it, she can always drop out, but I don't think she'd wind up screwing herself and then not being able to do either. GH has denied so many options for her since her DWTS win in 2005. Honestly, I think they are partly afraid of giving her that opportunity, having it take off and then not re-signing with the shwo when her contract is up.
