We are flying into Orange County Airport on Monday. :cool1: Which is better, Disneyland Express or Super Shuttle. Do I need to book online or just wait until I get there?

I need to know this as well.....DBF has to fly back to Oakland for a family deal he couldn't get out of (we would have cancelled but we wouldn't get any timeshare points back) so he's flying into and out of SNA on Saturday & Sunday......I really don't want to take him myself....LOL

I"ve taken super shuttle and it was quick and easy. They do want to wait to get a full shuttle, but the two times I've taken it (once from SNA and once from ONT) after a bit of waiting they get tired of it and just go (I've pre-paid both times). If you have a full shuttle, it might be people going to Disneyland area hotels, but it also might be people going to their homes, so you might have a litlte drive around the area.

With Disneyland Express, it's a Grayline bus so there are more people on board, but they are all going to disney area hotels. I believe that DLH is the main stop, and then going to other (non-Disney) hotels you might have to switch buses there. I know it's the last stop going back to the airport...everyone else has to get to their stop earlier (so I just get myself to DLH and take it from there!)...but I'm not 100% sure how it is to get FROM the airport.

If you have an Entertainment Book there's a coupon for Super Shuttle in there (all of them). If you have enough time to book online for Disneyland Express you can get a discount, too, but they need a few days lead time for some reason.

I always use Supershuttle because I find it a bit cheaper. Always looking for ways to save some money. I would book before hand online. I always find it easier to book before I go. Then you can print off your reservation confirmation before you go. Happy Trip Planning!!

I always use Super Shuttle. Its quick, its easy, and cheaper then Disney Express. The bonus of the Disney express though is that your sitting with a bunch of excited people all going to the happiest place on earth so you get that extra excitement. But its not like you are going to be jumping around on the bus doing a jig and high fiveing everyone in excitement... Depending on the size of your group you can sometimes get a full Super Shuttle to yourself which takes you straight to your hotel. Or you might have to wait for a person or 2 to get dropped off at their hotel before you, but its in the exact same area as your hotel. Not a big deal. You will still be at your hotel within a half hour. Sometimes you luck out and are the first to be dropped off anyway.

Personally I just like taking Super Shuttle. You are still sitting with people who are excited as you to be going to DL, you have the opportunity to talk with them and talk about what they are getting excited about. And its cheaper overall.

re: excited people...teehee...the one time I took it from SNA the only other passenger was there for a convention, and had never been to Disneyland or any other theme park, and would NEVER go to them. He wasn't hostile or anything, but he knew himself, and it was just not for him.

It was interesting...we were studying each other like the other was in a zoo or something...just a total lack of understanding and comprehension. I think he thought I was weirder than I thought he was, since at least I've been in his viewpoint before...:rotfl:

But it was just killing me...he was staying at the Tropicana, I mean steps away from the fun, closer to the crosswalk than me at the Carousel, he really couldn't spare $100 just to go check it out to make SURE he isn't a theme park/disney kind of guy? :scared:

So do they drop off at all the hotels? We aren't staying on Harbor (Peacock Suites) so we are a little off the main drag. Is there only 1 shuttle or do you need a schedule of some kind?

Super Shuttle will take you to any hotel/motel.

Not sure if same applies here, but I took Super Shuttle in DC last summer and they even picked up/dropped off at people's HOMES!

Super Shuttle will take you wherever you need to go. They try and keep you within the same area of other peoples hotels. We dropped someone off at a house on our last trip. But it was like 3 blocks away from Harbor so it wasnt a huge issue.

I think I read a taxi is only about $35 from Orange County Airport. To me, that would definitely be worth it to not have to wait for other stops and for the shuttle/bus to fill.

When we took it, the shuttle was full right when we walked up. We were the last dropped off of about 5 hotels, but it went very quickly. We were there in no time. There's a coupon for $2. off per person, each way here: http://www.anaheimoc.org/Articles/Archive/Webpage10153.asp It's the second-to-last coupon on the list. You can use it when you book ahead of time. Using that, we paid $16 round trip for each of us, not including tip. The driver was very friendly, helpful and nice. It was a great deal!

That has been a flat rate price mentioned in the past. But it's probably higher now. And people have reported not being able to secure a flat rate leaving the airport...and definitely not going BACK to the airport. That is almost always done on the meter.

When I was there in October, the taxi flat rate was $45, but only if you called ahead. If not, there was no flat rate which made it about $48 for us since we had no reservation. If you got stuck in traffic, that amount would be higher. I suspect if you demanded a flat rate, someone would give it to you, though.

For fewer than 5 people, I'd use Super Shuttle (actually, I might use them anyway). It's cheap! Here is a good coupon code that will get you $3 off each direction: UYR59 I believe most other coupon codes give you $2 off each way. One note: they stopped giving the discount to every member of the party on the same booking, so book each person separately to get the full $6 off roundtrip pp. That makes the fare $7 each way. You have to book online for that deal but then you can add in the tip, which I always do, and everything's taken care of.

Ohh, thanks!! Thanks everyone for your input, I appreciate it very much. :) Now to convince DBF to take SS instead of making me drive him. LOL
