Has anyone seen a Supersaver rate lately?

We have one booked for Thanksgiving, but I was checking our rate and I noticed that they are not listed anymore for our dates. I haven't seen one since the website upgrades - both Universal and Loews.

I ran a few more dates for other trips we are planning and again, no Supersavers showed up.

The only things showing up are the Free ticket specials, the seasonal rate and the bed and breakfast. And of course, APH is showing up when you enter the code but nothing else.

Has anybody booked one over the phone lately?

Hope the Supersavers have not gone away :sad1:

Edited to add: I am checking through www.loewshotels.com

For some dumb reason I only see them if our dates are 3 days or less. Once you hit that 4 day mark all they seem to ever are the ticket deals. Same way when I called. Pretty dumb if you ask me. However, I did find a AAA rate for our Christmas visit cheaper than the Super Saver anyways. Check the AAA website, it may be cheaper in the long run to sign up...and you can get more than 3 days!

I do have AAA and that is an option. However, I can't book it through AAA because we won't get our Platinum upgrades. I was looking to compare the AAA with the Supersaver just in case.

Funny that you are seeing the supersavers for less than 3 days because it is supposed to be a rate for longer stays

You will get Platinum upgrades with AAA. If someone with Loew's is telling you otherwise, ask to speek to a supervisor. AAA is the only third party rate that qualifies with LF.

I compared rates..I added the AAA rate, then added on the cost of the breakast buffet and it was cheaper by at least $20...If you have AAA, they too are usually LOWER THAN SUPERSAVER RATES!!

Florida Resident Rates just got lower for mid August at RP....

Something like $134, std and $164 waterview Florida Res rates at RP...
Pretty darn good!

If you book a AAA rate through Loews, they will honor it.

However, it seems they are getting stricter on the third party booking and that if you book your AAA rate through AAA and not with Loews, then it is a third party booking and does not qualify.

Book with Loews, never a question. Book through AAA - ????

I did have a couple of managers (one very high ranking in the Loews hierarchy) tell me that they are phasing out the AAA rate as LoewsFirst compatible. I haven't called LoewsFirst to confirm and it is most likely just some more confusion. But who knows if the AAA rates will continue to be LoewsFirst compatible.

I had booked through AAA about 1 month ago and thought I had a terrific deal for club level. I had gotten a rate by calling # on Universal site and because I felt that my AAA agent deserved the commission (I had changed from cruise to Disney to Atlantis), I called her gave her the rate and how to book the deal. She did and all was settled...so I thought.

I called my agent last week to see if she had found any cheap air fares yet. We were double checking the room and discovered that I had only been booked for a deluxe room for the Portofino. My agent has called several times to argue with them even giving the names of who both of us has talked to regarding the package price--they are not budging.

So....I have calculated that I am paying about $300 for a deluxe room at the Portofino for 12/26-Jan 1 2009. Do you think I should pay another 759 to get the club level or wait until check-in and try to get the lower price that some have gotten?

We have stayed at the Portofino about 2 years ago during Spring Break/Mardi Gras and didn't realize that we were upgraded to the deluxe until I found these boards. A magical moment at Universal:)

When talking to the Universal agent I was told that for the Christmas Holiday time, that they would post deals beginning in October.

One thing that I discovered when playing around with the hotel site, is that whenever I would go back in to look and see the prices for the rooms, they would have gone up. Since that same thing had happened to me with airline tickets, I learned how to clear my cookies before I looked and there were the lower prices again. :) The universal netbooker site is kind of tricky with its cookies though...I had to clear at least three of them and only one of them was the netbooker site, the rest were hidden with random letters or numbers in front of the name.

Hope that helps! I now clear cookies for rental cars, airline tickets and hotel rooms, as I have found that the prices always, always go up when they can see that I was there before. :)

I booked through Loews over the phone using my AAA so I should be fine with my perks correct?
