Super Goofs moving into May

Lisa - lots of hugs to DD!

Maura - good luck at the 10K.

Beth - morning!

Happy Friday to all!

Got in good work out last night. However, note to self: do not try to swim laps after upper body weights and core workout. Shoulders got tired quickly. Friday is always a rest day for me. Saturday have 9 miler with group, Sunday will bike the tri route and work in swim time somewhere as well.

Also going to finally see X-men Wolverine.

Have a great weekend!!

Happy Friday!

Lisa -- hope your DD feels better soon

Maura -- good luck with Saturday's race

Hello to all the other Goofs!

As for me...
Went for a run this morning...it felt like weights were strapped to my legs. It's the first time I've ran with my GPS in a while...I have a PT test coming up for work in the next couple of weeks and decided to see what my 1.5 mile time was looking like. I couldn't stop looking at the watch...every few seconds I had to glance down, and each time my pace got slower and slower. I love my Garmin, but sometimes I hate it at the same time...know what I mean? Well, my time ended up being slower than it's been for previous tests, but I should still pass...let's hope! On the up side...it was an absolutely gorgeous morning...perfect running weather...clear and 60 degrees. If it's nice when I get home I'll probably go for a long walk. Nothing planned for this weekend...just relaxing. I'll be deploying to South America in a few weeks (for 3 months), so I only have a few weekends left with my DH and kids before I leave :sad1: Gotta enjoy the time while I have it.

Hi Goofs,

Back from my 10k--the Oak Apple Run. Went reasonably well. I posted a race report over on the race thread. Finished in 50:52--which is 4 minutes faster than my only other 10k from last December (That's good), although not as fast pacewise as my last 5k result. Still, pretty good result all things considered, and one I hope to build on for later this year.

Time to go shower and maybe nap!

Maura

Rest day for me today...didn't plan on it, but I was running errands all day and then developed a fever this evening (probably from the Yellow Fever vaccine they gave me yesterday). Did manage to have an air hockey tournament today with the kids and DH...that should count for something, right? ;)

Lisa - I hope your daughter is healing up nicely. Wow, that was always my biggest fear when pitching. Fortunately for me, I usually couldn't throw it anywhere near the batter so they usually stuck me at 3rd.

Maura - Great job on your 10K. I wish I could do one in 50 minutes. That's about 6 minutes faster than my PR. Awesome!

AFM, I haven't been able to work out much this week. I came back from vacation and had only two work days to catch up before being summoned for jury duty. I've been there all week so I've been having to work 3-4 hours each night at home just to keep up with work. I ran a nice 6 miles from my house to my favorite trail today. I have been able to squeeze in some time on the exercise bike this week.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Have a great day Goofs, lets start June strong!

:stitch: 'Ohana Monday Mixer :stitch:

I know you're all ea-GEAR to share your knowledge about your favorite clothing, training aids and technical toys, so this week's prompt posted here on the 'Ohana thread is:

Beyond the basics, what's your favorite/most-useful/most loved gear?

Of course, feel free to talk about your favorite shoes, socks, tech shirts or sports bras or other necessities. But I think we'd all like to know about that special something(s) that you've added to your "must have" for training, racing days, or just plain pleasure. For some of you, maybe it's your Garmin. Other, a special brand of sunscreen or a specific brand of water belt? Still others, a strategy for taping your legs and feet or a a favorite tracking website?

Please share your special finds with the rest of us. :thumbsup2

I updated last night! 4 hours in the yard on Saturday and my legs are still killing me.

Hey Goofs! Back from WDW. I just updated my totals.
I got in 11 miles while on vacation. Ran twice while we were staying at BCV and ran over to the Studios and around BW and Y&BC. I love that run! Then we switched over to CBR and I ran once over there. It was extremely humid! OMG!!! It rained ALOT while we were there. We had a nice time, but are very tired. My training plan has me running an hour tomorrow and I'm not sure I have the energy for it! Hope everyone has been well! I'll catch up later. :goodvibes
