Super Goofs March Challenge

Good morning, good morning my Goofy ones!! Today is your last chance workout. Be sure to get those miles/hours in by tonight so our spreadsheet rocks tomorrow. With all the new additions to our team racking up the mileage, we should be looking better after this weekend!! :thumbsup2

Another thread is commenting on how Jillian bumped Brittnay's treadmill up to 14 mph. They are appalled. I want to comment on this. It is about pushing through an obstacle. Brittnay did not think she could do it and therefore she would not. You have to believe in yourself. Believe that you can run/walk further, believe that you can complete a race, and believe in your body that all this training will carry you through and toward your goals. It was not about punishment and Jillian would never do anything to risk an injury. She believed that Brittnay could do it. I believe in each and every one of you and I know that you CAN do it too!!!:yay:

 Challenge of the week: 5 minutes of stretching for those who do not do it and 5 minutes more stretching for those who do. This can be before your workout or after your workout or while watching TV at night.

KEEP MOVING TEAM, WE CAN ALL ATTAIN OUR GOALS TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

My Wednesday workout was 1h45m of XT--elliptical, muscle max class, water aerobics. Thursday was my 3 miler--dreadful all the way (I willed myself to finish it) for some reason. I did have the treadmill set at 1.5% incline--a little more than usual, but I don't think that was it. Oh well, every day can't be great.

Good thing today is a rest day, since tomorrow is a gut-check 6 miler.

Maura

Only 5.98 miles for me yesterday. I usually go for a walk at lunch and I got too busy at work (sort of threw off my miles for the day). I also did 30 minutes of jump roping.

I am the slug this week...

town meeting last night, went 'til midnight...ug!

3/12
1.5 miles/24 mins

3/13
2.5 miles/40 mins

I dont think Jillian was too hard on Britney, she didnt make her run that fast for a whole hour, just for a minute or so to prove she could do it. Again, I wish I had a Jillian....can you get a PT for just a day, or just a few hours?

More snow tonight/tomorrow, 1-3 inches, but by now I consider that just a dusting...just when I thought we were done...

Hope everyone is having a Happy Pi Day!!!

Hi goofs!

Fridays run:

10.22 in 1:41

More hill training today. And in the rain no less. We need the rain so I won't complain.

I hope I posted all my runs this week. I can't remember.

Cecilia

Hope everyone is having a Happy Pi Day!!!

Don't forget: we goofs consider "slug" a complement. :goodvibes
We all have bad weeks. One week in February, I had a whopping total of 8 miles. You have no idea how important those 1 and 2 mile runs can be over the long haul. Its WAY better than no miles. It takes over two weeks to regain what you lose by taking an entire week off. Whereas, if you run even a little bit, you can maintain muscle from previous weeks. So GOOD JOB.

As for pi day. I had to take 3 pies to my daughters middle school this morning. Imagine her horror when I walked in in my running clothes. (skinny legged running shorts, my Disney marathon shirt, and hat) I got a huge kick at the boy who looked at Charley and said "thats your MOM?" I think she wanted to disappear! Or more likely she wanted ME to disappear.

I thought celebrating pi day with pie was a great idea. (I didn't have any though :sad1: )

Take care!
Cecilia

GREAT JOB to everyone this week! The numbers look great!!

I have everyone to here. Beach to Beacon 10K in Cape Elizabeth sign ups today. They opened at 9 a.m., I just signed up at 10:30 and am #2578. It should fill up soon. Beach2beacon.org. I would love some company and heck, it's only 6 miles!!!!!!!!!! :upsidedow

Happy sunny Saturday, everyone! It is so nice to have some spring-like weather. Today I did my "6" miler, but since I finished it much faster than I would have expected, I was suspicous. So the dog and I jumped in the car and measured the route and sure enough it was short--AARRGGHH! I don't know what happened, but Mapmyrun was way off--it ended up being more like 5.7. The only good thing--I know that I could have whipped off another .3 miles 'cause I felt pretty good at the end (not so great in the middle, but it's the end that counts right?)

Anyway, my total for today was 5.7/55:19. So that's about 9:40 pace. I'm pretty happy with that.

Maura

Hi Goofs:flower3: How is everyone doing?

Four years ago at the Olympic Marathon, horridly hot and almost all up hill, the worlds best woman marathoner, was sitting on the side of the road crying. Paula didn't have anymore to give that day. Someone like her is never down for long and this summer she will once again toe the starting line against the best in the world. I bet that lady will be out to prove something to herself and the world.

I mention that because I think it's a lesson for all of us. We are going to have some super days and we are going to have some sucky ones. True strength and courage is putting the bad days behind us and not giving in.

Have a good weekend guys and pretty princesses.
