Super Goofs June Team Challenge Thread

No Mike, I am only doing the run part of the tri. Call me a wimp. My BIL was injured and can not do the run part of the tri so I am going to run it for him. It's going to miserable!

Hi Goofs,

Do not know if I posted for 2 days so here goes,

Wed 60 minutes total time, part of which was 3.3 miles.

Thusday: 40 minutes for 3.3 miles.

Have a good Friday everyone!

Kim, am SO JEALOUS, you entered, you finished, WAY TO GO!.

I have yet to do my first 5k, I really need to get on the stick here. Maybe still I can get a local one in before the summer is done.

Good morning Super Goofs. This is last chance workout day. I am going to put the remainder of June in the first week of July, corporate decision this morning.

The picnic was boring. They played water balloon games and hula hoop and some golf thing so you could win baskets. The first one was water balloons which I was definitely NOT participating in (sports bra, white tee, you get the picture) and the fitness basket went to the winner of that so I boycotted the remainder of the games. I got home slightly earlier than expected and DD13 had actually done the laundry for me...:faint: No really, I am not kidding. So I started packing for this weekend and tossing dinner together. I took her to practice and actually ran, albeit on the track. I am pretty much feeling the same about running in circles and on a TM. Boring. But I had 2 really good laps and 2 slower laps for a total of 4 miles in 42:40 for a 10:40 average. I walked some on the last lap due to overheating. Funny how that black draws the heat and your feet are burning really quickly.

Have a great day Super Goofs. I will be back on Monday after the weekend of softball. Get those miles and minutes in while I am gone!! :yay:

Hey Goofs,

Checking in on the last Friday before our company shutdown--no, this one is only the usual annual 1 or 2 week break, although the way the auto industry and our stock are going, cross your fingers!

Let's see, for workouts. Wednesday I did my shoe check run, so 2 miles in 20 minutes (didn't go all that great), Thursday I did 40 minutes on the bike and today, 40 minutes of weights.

Today I go to a PT/elite runner to have my knees checked and a video gait analysis--could be fun! So hope I start getting better answers to help get me back out there and running.
Next week I'm at my mom's--so don't know how much of a workout I'll get at all, but I'll try to find something!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Maura

Good Morning Goofs!

Does today's workout start July? Wow.

8.0 miles in 1:15:02

Dh and I ran the trails together today. The trails were packed with runners even at 6am! I think everyone is getting ready for the Peachtree Road Race next friday.

Hi Super Goofs!

My hours/miles have not been good this week. I managed to get in a few miles on my bike to help prepare for a 28-mile bike event today. The bad news is that the ride was cancelled due to bad weather. I really wanted to earn those double miles. Bummer! Steve and I went to the gym instead and walked on the treadmill.

Here's our miles/hours since my last post:

Wednesday, June 25:

Steve: 10 miles/40 minutes

Thursday, June 26:

Steve: 10 miles/40 minutes

Friday, June 27:

Susie: 5 miles/ 30 minutes

Saturday, June 28, 2008

Steve: 4.3 miles/ 65 minutes

Susie: 3.3 miles/ 50 minutes

Hi Goofs,

60 minutes total exercise time yesterday, which included a run outside for 40 minutes and 3.3 miles.

Have a great Sunday.

I hope to get another run outside today if there are not storms that move in.

Lynn

keep up the good work!

9.5 mile run...moved the scheduled swim to tomorrow due to fatigue/soreness.

Kim, congratulations on your first 5K! I'm sorry your ankle is still bothering you. You probably could have finished faster but there this is just the first race. Don't worry about your time. Just getting out there and doing it is the key. Your DH is right - you'll have plenty of opportunity to improve. And, you will!!!

I know what you mean about the elite runners. I enter local 5K's but I really don't like to - mainly because I come in last or close to last each time. The people who enter these events in my small town are usually seasoned runners. Like you said, after the first quarter mile, they are gone and I don't see them again until the finish line. However, I'm just happy that I have the nerve to get out there with these runners. I'm a walker/runner and I do what I can do. The fact that I'm getting out there at all is still somewhat of a shock to many of my friends and family members.

Congratulations again! It won't be long before we start reading about your new PRs! :goodvibes

Here are my miles/hours for today, Sunday, June 29:
Susie: 8 miles, 30 minutes
Steve: Same as above
