Super Goofs bringing it home for the holidays challenge thread

Hey there Super Goofs!!

First of all.....HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MAURA!!!! I hope you had a great day yesterday!!

I was back at the training today after my rest day yesterday. Surprisingly my legs felt great yesterday after my 16 miles on sunday..I guess that is a good sign. Keeping up with my training plan this year has really paid off!!! I am really started to get excited for the goofy, I might just actually finish this thing!!!

Today's workout: 4 miles/46 min plus 20 min stretching

Time to go eat dinner and finish putting up the xmas tree, we started on sunday night but just got too tired to finish and I had no energy to do it last night, so it will get done tonight!!

Great job Goofs....keep up the great work!

2 miles
23:55

Not too fast, but my ankle felt a bit quirky so I didn't want to push.

3 miles run...20 degrees at 0340 by the way.

Another 3 miles walking last Sunday....I don't think I got that posted.

Mike

Tuesday...70 mins bike/14.46 miles

Info coming soon but Disney just added a 5K in February during ESPN weekend running through the Studios with an ESPN medal benefiting the V foundation for Cancer research. It's now added to my list and I'm going to try and get a "team" from work to join me!

4 miles for me today in 36 minutes. It was a good run. Tried to ramp up the TM incline, but put it back about halfway. Good news is--no pain! Had on my new shoes and my repositioned IT band. I know it's not healed, but it felt good to at least do the 4 miles without worrying if I would ened to stop because of it.

Add on 14 minutes of stretch--just rounding up to a total of 50 minutes.

Maura

This is going to be a quick drive-by for me too....sorry!

Had a TERRIBLE run today. From the minute I got on the TM at the gym, my shins were killing me!!! I was able to do 4 miles, but decided to stop then. I was supposed to do 8 miles, but I didn't want to push it. I stretched afterwards, and came home and iced them, so hopefully tomorrow will be better. I know it isn't my shoes, because they are fairly new, I have a feeling they hurt from doing 16 miles on the TM this past weekend!!!

4 miles/50 min plus 20 min stretching

Wednesday...55 mins bike/11.14 miles

The countdown clock says 37ish days till the 1/2 marathon and I am so nervous I am making myself sick. What if I can't finish? Why do I doubt myself? I don't want to look like a failure. It's been a long day. I need some sunshine.

Tuesday- 1.5 hours riding, 1 hour spin class
Wednesday- 2 hours riding, 1/2 hour elipitcal (3 miles), 1/2 with personal torturer

Good morning Goofs. I see everyone has been out working hard!!

I took a long 21.5 mile bike ride on Tuesday and it was great. Today it is sunny and going to be raining by the time I am done work so I will go to the gym with DD13. Yesterday was just power grocery and Christmas shopping. I did buy a new yoga DVD though which I am very excited to try. :goodvibes

Anyone considering the CMM next year should be aware that they just put out a code HOLIDAY to get $10 off your registration. This is good for ALL the RNR events and needs to be used by 12/15. Is anyone else doing CMM? I am signing up for the full....eeek.....:scared:

Lisa: Is that code for the full or 1/2 (or both) I actually have the code for the full for $15 off if you want it......it's at home, but I can post it later.

To all my Super Goofs: I have ramped up my mileage and time at the gym the past week in support of you (((((and the weight loss that I hope will follow!!!!!!)))))))

Wed totals:

Time: 90 min
(with lower body weight workout with the trainer!)
Miles: 4

I got a game of racquetball with ds#2 also! It was a pretty nice night at the gym!

Beth

Beth, if you have $15 off code, that would be awesome. The code I had is for either and for ANY of the Rock N Roll events. I have already registered for VA Beach and I am signing up for the CMM full too. These are my 2 trips for the year. No WDW :sad1: but I have lots of company at both races.

I have booked at the Millenium Maxwell House hotel in Nashville. It is out of the way but they apparently have excellent shuttle services according to Trip Advisor. We will be staying most of the week.

Beth, where did you stay in VA Beach this year? I am trying to get my ducks in a row so DH has no excuses!!! :goodvibes

Lisa: I have a call in to my friend Heidi (who is home with the code) when I hear back from her I will post the code for you. We will be staying at the Homewood Suites (5733 Cleveland st, VA beach) next year. We got a $99.00 a night rate. This is not real close to the beach (probably 15 min driving distance), but my dh car pools us into the race on Sunday. To stay closer to the beach (and the race start) is very costly. We would rather stay out farther and have the extra money to spend during our vacation. My dh has many hotels booked already......they go really fast. I will check to see if he has any discount codes.

In 2007 we stayed on the beach, and 3 blocks away from the start of the race (great location!) but it cost us about $300.00 a night.......we would not do it again. It was just too much money! But, if you have the money, it was a great location and real nice for 'spectator' watching!

Beth

Beth, I think I would rather stay on the beach, even with the extra costs. DH and I are coming down alone on Friday and leaving Monday or Tuesday and a little beach time would be great. I also don't want to rent a car, etcetera.

I appreciate your looking for the code. I do like that the full is only $5 more than the half. It makes it a little easier for me to justify spending the $$. If you sign up for CMM on the 10th, you get Cytomax samples if you are one of the first 50. Hoping that me getting up and on the computer by 5 a.m. will put me in that group. Love freebies!!!

Lisa: The code for CMM is ANNIV and that gives you $15 off. I hear you about staying on the beach. It is so much nicer, if you have the money to spend! You will have a blast!

Beth

Thank you Beth :goodvibes And, I may not have the money but with such a short stay, I will pay for the convenience. Are you doing CMM??? I booked at the Millenium Maxwell House for $109 a night. They supposedly have shuttles to the start line....

You're welcome Lisa! Yes, I think I will be doing the CM1/2M. My friend Heidi is doing the full too! She just signed up yesterday! My dh did get hotel reservations for CMM, but I don't know where they are. I will ask him and let you know!

Beth

Lisa: I think we stayed at

Fairfield Inn
1901 Atlantic Avenue
Virginia Beach, Virginia 23451 USA
Phone: 1-757-422-4885

in 2007. I think it's right down from the convention center.
