Super busy crazy attractions

Hey all!

So, our last 3 trips have been to DisneyWORLD and we're super excited to be going back to DisneyLAND at last. We love DL because we find it much more relaxed than DW. That being said, it seems as though some of the newer attractions are now rather hectic.

Obviously World of Color requires some effort to get to. What other attractions, shows or rides are like this? Do we need to be at rope drop to get FPs?

Thanks!

Needing FPs depend on the crowd for a particular day. Also you will find fewer FP attractions than at WDW.

In DL, Indy, Splash and Space are the busiest attractions and all have FP. Peter Pan is also quite busy and does NOT have FP.

In DCA, TSM is the busiest and does NOT have FP. Soarin and California Screemin get long waits and have FP so does ToT which can have a long wait.

WoC requires a FP for a decent view. WoC Superthread, will discuss FP option and viewing strategy.

Fantasmic is on the Rivers of America like the fireworks can require a wait to get a good view.

We went to DL for the first time in October. The only attraction that had a huge line was Midway Mania. No FPs. The FP system is so easy at DL, we easily got them for all the headliners.

Peter Pan always seems to have a line.

WOC is an entirely different type of beast. Hydroguy's thread has tons of good info.

Have a blast! We fell in love with DL and have already planned two return trips! DL has such charm...you will LOVE it!

No FPs for Toy Story?! I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Last week when we were at WDW we were at DHS for rope drop and booked it to get fast passes, then waited in the stand-by line.

What about Nemo? That's new since we were there last. Is that a long wait?

Thanks for all the info!

Forgot about Nemo. During the day it's usually 30-45 minutes even on slow days, which is one reason I only go on it if I'm with someone that's never been. If you wait until nighttime, the line is shorter.

TSMM is easily 35-45 minutes even on a slow day. I find that so many people run to get there first that even at rope drop you can have a 30 min wait if you weren't absolutely first. I usually just get a snack and wait in line, accepting that I'll be there a while.

TSM was the only unavoidable line we had to deal with... We tried the rope drop thing but it was down that morning...In the end we just waited it out which was typically 30 to 45minutes. PP always has a line but if you catch it early during MM or early at park opening it can only be 5 min or so at the most.

Nemo is best done early or towards the end of the fireworks, we had only 10 min wait doing it then as opposed to typically 30 minutes.

Do JC at night (the later the better)...

We were told that the reason TS MM and Nemo did not have FP's is because they expected lines to be long the first year or two then later on to attract less attention. Not sure if its true or not. I have noticed shorter lines later in the evenings when the park stays open and people with small children have gone back to their hotel, I've been on both of them with a 10-min wait around 10 or 11p, so we usually push it back until the evening.

TSM did seem to shorten up at night but not to a huge degree. We ended up with a GAC for the second half of our stay (long story) which meant we didn't have any wait but TSM, PP and Nemo were the non FP rides that always seemed to have a line... Before the GAC we just waited out TSM as there was no way around it, as someone else said the stampede to TSM at DCA opening is mad and we avoided it after the first attempt. PP and Nemo can be done with 5 min waits by good timing either at park opening or during the fireworks.
