Trying to come up with traditions that a family friend of mine can start with his son tonight watching the Super Bowl.

They haven't been in touch too much over the last few years (dad is in 60s; son is in 40s) and plan on watching the game tonight.

I think traditions are just kind of created naturally after the fact. I think the best thing for them to do is pick a couple of fun foods or appetizers they both enjoy, then just spend time together watching the game. No pressure. See where it goes from there. :)

Usually we go to a big family party... But with my son having the flu this week I’m staying home with the kids this year. We’ll have snacks and be low-key :)

Just my standard tradition of sitting in the other room while DH watches. I pop in every 20 minutes or so to watch for a minute or two. I usually DO watch the halftime show. I can still hear the game on the TV from where I am.
