We are having our first Super Bowl party today. Serving: Chili, wings, party sub, deviled eggs, veggie platter, fruit/cheese platter, chips & dip, chips & salsa. I made cupcakes and three other couples are bringing dessert (don't know what it is). Since it's going to be a looooong game, I'm guessing the food doesn't all go out at the same time? Right? Do you bring out the main dishes (like chili and wings) at half time? What food goes out and when?
Thanks!

I would keep chili in the crock pot on warm.
Keep chips and dips out.
Keep some salsa in the fridge and some out, and refresh as needed.
I would let people serve themselves, then put party sub in fridge so it doesn't get off temperature. Just tell guests to help themselves to seconds in fridge, and tell them why so they will know you're sincere and just trying to keep them from getting sick.
ETA: I have gotten to the point that I entertain out of crock pots quite regularly, especially when it like what you're describing.

Would you just put all the food out as soon as people start to arrive or just chips, veggie plate first and chili and party sub at half time?
P.S. Yes, chili will be in a crock pot.

Depends where you live...East Coast game starts at 6:20ish pm...that's dinner time...so I'd have dinner out at 6pm as pre-game festivities wrap up (for everyone to grab) and I'd put out desserts at half time. If you're in a different time zone, like the West Coast where the game starts at 3:20ish pm, I'd just do the snacks before game, dinner at half time, and dessert post game. It just all depends:)...I'm thinking Monterey means West Coast, but people do move from original Disboards sign ups (I did), so I didn't want to presume:)...

TwoMisfits has a point. What time zone are you in?
If it's close to dinner, put it all out as they arrive.
If it's earlier, put out appetizers, then put out sandwiches later.

EST....we live in Georgia. People arriving at 5 p.m. so I guess put everything out as they arrive. Didn't realize that it would be close to dinner time. Was just worried they'd eat everything and as they game went on there would be nothing left. Thanks so much. You've been a great help.

We are also on EST and going to have the food out at game time. Plus since you're in GA people may leave by half time when the Falcons are getting killed :D:D Go Pats!!

Keep some chips and such reserved and put out fresh stuff at half time.

Actually, I'd put almost everything out pregame, but I'd reserve the fruit/cheese tray with the desserts for halftime (and I'd clear away all the "savory" then, too). By 8-8:30pm, people have probably had their fill of all the meats and salt, and will just wanting sweet to wind down with:)...

We just moved here last summer. But, of course, everyone coming to the party are rooting for the Falcons.

We have a big party every year....about 20-25 people this year. East coast so game around 6:30. Everyone brings something so we have tons of food. We use a lot of crock pots to keep things hot. We have a food station, dessert station and a drink station. Nibble foods like Chex mix get set around on tables etc. everyone will be there by 6:15 and all the food goes out then. Food stays out the whole game and we just graze though the game. Never even came close to running out of food.
