My DD (9) went to a water park yesterday with a friend and her family. While on the lazy river ride she got jammed up with a bunch of empty tubes and couldn't move them. (She is fairly small and petite). A lady came up behind her (dd said,"she was old, like 30 or 40") and yelled at her to move. DD couldn't move so the lady KICKED HER!!!!

My daughter is a people pleaser. She generally does not lie because she hates to get in trouble. She also never wants to get anyone else in trouble. On the rare occations that I feel that she may be exagerating or leaving something out, she will imediately come clean upon being questioned. She is also extremely respectful to adults and people in general. I questioned her at length about what happened. I thought maybe that the lady had used her foot to help push her through the tube jam and accidentally kicked her. DD swears that this was not the case but that the lady intentionly kicked her in the side. Her and her friend then went to find her friends parents. When they pointed her out to the dad, the lady flipped them off (she didn't know that, the dad told me later) and stuck her tounge out at them. Then she dissapeared into the crowd.

Today, my dd has a huge black and blue bruise on her side from rib to hip! I am sooooooo angry!!! I cannot imagine intentionally injuring or attacking a child. I wish me or my DH had been there.......the outcome of this story would be far different! Sorry, just wanted to vent!:headache:

:scared1: The outcome for me would have been (if I had been there) that I would have ended up in jail!! Human beings never cease to amaze me. Your poor DD - what a traumatic experience!!

Wow, that is RIDICULOUS. Your poor daughter. No child should have to experience anything like that. That woman must be insane...not that that's any excuse. Some people!:mad:

Your poor dd. :guilty: That is a terrible story. That lady is clearly an out of control nutcase! Don't worry, she obviously can't control herself and will be getting hers soon I am sure.

Not sure hwere this happened, but these parks have cameras everywhere. You could probably track her down and prosecute if you so desire. If it were me, I'd track her down. Not sure what I'd do when I caught her, but I'd track her down.

Why would anyone kick a child?! That lady has problems and I bet your daughter isn’t her first (or last) victim. :sad2:
 to your dd.

Thanks everyone for the support:goodvibes I asked her how she was feeling today and she said it still hurts. She told me "Mama, that lady should be very ashamed of herself for being so immature. I am just a little kid and she shouldn't be hurting kids!" Unfortunatly, I am pretty sure that someone who would do this is neither ashamed of herself, nor has she given a second thought to my child who is sporting a monster bruise today. The DIS mods won't let me post what I REALLY want to say about her but I'm sure yall can read my mind!!;)

I would def take pictures in case you decide to do something later, even if it's just to file an assault report with police. And if the bruises get more showy over then next few days, I'd take more photos. And write down what happened and where (also in case you decide to check on video cams and file a report).

Hugs and peace to you and your daughter. Your anger is prob good for her to know about. She'll feel you are her warrior!

So sorry to both of you (and any others who were traumatized by that monster.

I feel so bad for your poor daughter.

I'm not trying to stand up for the idiot woman at all, but just maybe she was trying to kick your daughter's innertube to help push her through and her foot slipped?

That's what I thought too because surely a grown woman would not kick a child. But not only is my daughter adamant that this was intentional, DD wasn't "sitting" in her tube. She had put her legs through the middle so that she could get some leverage to push through the tube jam. If the woman had been trying to kick at the tube to move it along and missed, she would have hit her in the arm or face....somewhere above her chest (she is short). But the bruising is between her bottom rib and her hip bone. The part of her which was underwater. Meaning the woman would have to have kicked her pretty dang hard in order to leave that bad of a mark since the water would have slowed her momentem down. Not to mention, to hit her at that angle she would have had to TRY to kick her. Not to mention, if it was an accident, she would not have done the whole flipping them off, sticking out her tongue thing.

::yes:: I would try to track her down, too. What a lunatic!

I'm sorry for your dd. Hope she feels better soon.

As a side thought--I'd call the park and let them know so that perhaps their lifeguards--in addition to their real job of making sure noone drowns...can maybe make sure guests aren't getting assaulted.

That's just crazy that it happened to your dd.

I'd tell her next time if that were to happen (which hopefull is NEVER!) to scream as loud as possible for help.

Hope she feels better. My dd would have fallen to pieces if that had happened to her.

Poor kid. :sad2:

Yes, definitely take a picture now and call the water park. Imagine if someone else were to see the bruise and assume that it was caused by a parent abusing her.

Some adults hate children. It's sad, but true. :guilty:

:scared1::scared1::scared1: As I was reading your post I said out loud OMG!!!! How could someone do that to a innocent child????? I hope your little one feels better soon....

I am thinking words that would get me a violation on the Dis, so I'm just going to say SO SORRY for your poor DD! I hope that bruise clears up soon!

I'm not understanding how the lady could reach your daughter to kick her, since your daughter was caught in a tube-jam. :confused3 Doesn't make sense to me. That stinks for your daughter, though.

OP... your post makes me want to vomit. I am so sorry for your DD.

First take pictures. Next call the water park and make sure they do not copy over the security tapes, as they only keep them so long before they are recorded over at many places. Then call the police and file a report. You will not be allowed to view the security footage without a report most likely. I would definitely follow through with charges. It was done on purpose, an the lady wasn't even close to remorseful. I would be sure she thinks twice before hurting anyone else.

I have to make one alteration in your story: The story may involve a woman, but it certainly does not involve a lady.

Does this water park allow alcohol? I can't imagine an adult behaving so badly sober.

I doubt they can do anything now -- I mean, the woman's gone, and the possibility of identifying her is remote.
