Which of the 2 super 8 motels to stay at?

I know it's a walk from either but my ? Is is a tram really close to hop on?

We've stayed at the Super 8 on Disneyland Drive (and staying again there this June). It's not glitzy or glamorous but it's a nice clean little motel. The one major problem is parking..they double park everyone at night depending on what time you will be moving your car in the morning. As for walking to DL from there, we didn't try it at all...seems like a really far walk but may be do-able. We get our DL tix through AAA so parking at Mickey and Friends structure is free. Word of warning about the breakfast though..it's pretty much donuts and cereal, milk, coffee and juice. We didn't mind the motel at all, feeling as if we just go there to sleep or maybe take a afternoon nap/swim. It's nice for those driving to the park because it's literally right behind the parking structure. And a major plus is you can watch the fireworks from the pool.

Hope this helps a little!

honestly just looking for a place to sleep and shower we spend all day in the parks.

i figured the breakfast was about like the others my main concern was the walk.

wanting to just walk over and jump on the tram but wasnt sure how much of a pain it would be.

we are use to staying at hojo with entertainment rate but i doubt it will be available.

You might consider the Travellodge Anaheim International or Days Inn or Rodeway Inn and Suits on South Harbor.

Just cheap option, that you can walk to the Toy Story Lot from and be to the park quicker than from the Super 8 on Disneyland Dr.

We've stayed at the Super 8 on Katella a couple of times. For us it was definitely within walking distance but I don't think I would want to walk it more than about 3 (maybe 4) days (we only did 2 days each time). It probably took us 15 minutes ? to get to the security check.

This wouldn't be my first choice of hotels but it was cheap ($50/night), had a free (small) breakfast, and free parking. Parking doesn't seem to be an issue at the one on Katella like PP said it was at the other Super 8. It's also right next to the Gardenwalk if you're looking for a restaurant outside the park to eat at.

Hope that helps.

Ive been to the one on Disneyland drive about 6 times and almost always walk in. Sometimes i walk to the parking garage sometimes I just walk all the way in. (I do half marathons so this is not really any real distance to me) The parking garage is about 10 to 15 minute walk though.

The howard jonhnson by far is the best place to stay and is within walking distance so u do not have to rely on the trams or parking in the lots.
Try to get in there first because i have stayed at other hotels in the area and i always run into the problem that the beds are so uncomforatable. We stayed at the camelot hotel one time and it was super close to the park and they have a great pool on the rooftop to watch the fireworks. To me it is worth the extra money to be so close to the park and to take avantage of the EMH.

we love the hojo but not at the rack rate entertainment rate is a no brainer but it seems to far and in between anymore.

Probably like the Super 8s but in an older building with nicer grounds, better parking, a bigger pool and 7 minutes to the gates.

If that is the one right next to the HoJos my family calls it the "Not so Quality Inn" after our Dec 2010 stay there. Our standards are not that high I only sleep & shower at our room when we are at DLR but brown water and rude employees ended that hotel ever getting any business from us again.

The other Quality Inn we stayed at about 8 years ago and loved and we got the names mixed up and ended up with reservations at the wrong one in 2010

yeah its the 1 by hojo and thanks for the advice plus someone else said its by the freeway but wasnt sure if freeway noise was a factor

You might find this useful, it has the walk times from most hotels in the area:

Another you could add is America's Best Value Inn is right next to Super 8 on Katella, we got a one bedroom suite for around $90 a night including tax in peak season...

The walk is not that bad.... Literally a few minuts walk further than CCI at a fraction of the price... I just reminded myself each morning how much we saved which for us was over $100 a day...

And remember you could use the Toy Story shuttle near the Katella Super 8 ~ ConnieB shares her experience *here* I think when she's says across the street (Harbor) she means Katella.

We pretty much always stay at the Super 8 on Katella because you can't beat $50/night pretty much anytime of the year. The breakfast sucks but the walk is totally doable (and we have 2 kids and a double stroller)...We don't do anything but sleep in our hotel so I am easy to please.

It's clean, cheap and easy. :thumbsup2

We stayed at the one on Disneyland drive last July and are booked there again for this July. We didn't try to walk it last year but probably will try it this year(depends on what I am told to do).

We didn't spend a ton of time in the room but for the price I found it to be clean and pleasant. I love the looks of the place from the street and the pool is nice(though small).

The only negative was the bathroom. It had a strange layout but that may been in our room only. I really dont' know.

I'm one of those that hates change. I found the experience good last year so I booked it this year. I would not wanna chance another low rate hotel and risk it being crappy.
