Anyone ever stay here? How was it? What is the location in conjunction with Disney? Any info would be helpful! Thanks :flower:

We stayed there in Dec so their was no activities going on for the kids. During the peak times I guess they would have activities. It was clean and DH liked the set up of the condo. We didn't use the pool. From what I can remember it was a circular shape. There might have been another pool on the other side of the resort. There were hot tubs spaced throughout the grounds on the side we were on. You can do a search. I'm sure you will find more info.

How far was it to the Disney parks? Thanks for the info.

This is our "home" resort and we bought our timeshare there in 1990. We've been back a bunch of times and really like it. It's probably a 10 minute drive to the maingate, I'd say. We haven't been down there to stay since Hwy 192 has been finished from construction on it, so I might be off a little on my time. It's got 2 pools, numerous hot tubs but not much as far as planned activities. There are tennis courts and a workout room. It's just off of Hwy 192 on Polynesian Isles Blvd. Not too far from Publix Grocery Store and Old Town.

If it helps any, we're super excited to be going back there for 2 weeks next March. :cloud9:

Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions!

Thanks Figment!! Is there an arcade/game room for the teens? I have a 17 year old ds and was hoping he might be able to play some arcade games on down time, though he loves to swim as well so that would be fine too.

Now that 192 is done do you believe the ride would be shorter? Thanks so much and anything else you can think of let me know :flower:

Barb, we will be staying there in less than 2 weeks  and I do have some specific questions, but I figured I would ask them here rather than pming you because I thought Emme (or someone else) might want to know the answers, too. Hope she doesn't mind me highjacking her thread. I'm curious as to what is supplied with the room. I know with a week-long stay from Skyauction, we won't get daily maid service, so I'm wondering if it's like Cypress Pointe and we have to wash the towels if we run out. Can you recall how many towels are supplied? Are there pool towels? What about soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher soap, dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent? Is it well supplied with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc.? What do we do with our trash? Do you happen to know what incentive they offer to attend the timeshare presentation? Sorry so many questions, but info on this place is hard to come by. If I have any other questions, I will pm you. TIA. :love1:

Thank you for not PMing her Musky!!! I so want to know all those things too. I am bidding today on a two bedroom so any info before hand would be wonderful!

My main concern is how long to WDW. My hubby will NOT be happy if it is a labor intensive ride :goodvibes :teeth:

Can't wait to hear all the replies and wish me pixie dust at winning the auction today :wizard: :wizard:

We stayed here in January 2003, and the ride to Disney was a SNAP! Really quick, and easy. I don't think it ever took us more than 10 or 15 minutes to get to and from a WDW park.

Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you on this...I've been away from the boards for a few days. Let's see about answering your questions:

Can you recall how many towels are supplied?

If I remember correctly there are enough towels in the 2 bedroom units for 6 people...so 6 of each size. There is a laundry "exchange" midweek to get clean linens. There is a washer/dryer just outside of the entrance to each unit (2 units share one set of w/d's. We've never had a problem with it not being available) so you can wash them before that if you needed to.

Are there pool towels?
I honestly don't remember, but I'm guessing that there are. Don't hold me to that, though! :smooth:

What about soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher soap, dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent? Is it well supplied with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc.? What do we do with our trash?

They have small travel sized soaps in the bathrooms. There was plenty of toilet paper for my family and they gave more mid-week. Same with paper towels and dish soap. There was only enough laundry detergent for 1-2 loads depending on the size. I don't remember them replenishing it.

The trash...hmmm...the first few years we had to cart it out ourselves at the end of our stay, but that's not the same now. I believe mid-week they empty the garbage cans, but I may not be remembering correctly. We've stayed in quite a few different condos that I'm not clear on that. I do know that we don't have to cart our own garbage out at the end of the week anymore.

Do you happen to know what incentive they offer to attend the timeshare presentation?

Since we're owners our incentives are different so I don't have any ideas for you. Sorry!

Emme also asked about the drive on 192. It isn't labor intensive. You get to 192 from the resort by turning left at the gatehouse on Polynesian Isles Blvd (the only entrance to the resort), then turning right onto 192. If you turn right from the resort and go to 535 and turn left there are signs to go that directions too and that might be a few less stoplights. Both ways are easy and I don't think you'll find it horrible by any means!

Oh, and I don't know about the teen-type room. I just looked up in our RCI resort guide and it does list "Games Room". It doesn't elaborate so I have no idea about the extent of the games, but at least that's hopeful!

What else do you want to know? :flower:

Thank you so much Barb! :wave2:

I do have a couple more, can you pay for maid service if you want it? Also, if we do have to empty our trash are there dumpsters nearby? I am also assuming there is a vacuum, broom etc in the rooms?

Thanks again! I am so excited to be staying there but also a bit nervous as I am not sure what to expect :confused3

I'm not sure about the extra maid service being available, but it's possible since I've seen the golf carts with the linens, etc. around each day.

There are dumpsters available, pretty conveniently located to each group of units.

Yes there is a vacuum, broom, iron and ironing board in the closet for use.

Hmmm...what else can I think of?

:earsboy: The balcony/veranda is screened in so it's a nice place to sit and enjoy the evening (or whenever). There is a ceiling fan on the balcony as well.

:earsboy: The kitchen is stocked well for 6 occupants as far as dishes. The counter space is ample as well.

:earsboy: The master bathroom is HUGE with a big walk in shower and a jetted tub, 2 sinks and a fairly large amount of counter space.

:earsboy: The other bathroom is normal sized with a regular tub/shower. It has 2 doors: opening to the main part of the condo and to the 2nd bedroom.

:earsboy: The entrance of the resort has a gatehouse and has security on duty.

Thanks for the answers, Barb. Only a couple more questions I can think of: Where would be the closest grocery store? Also, if you can remember, is there a cake pan (9x13) in the kitchen, a cookie sheet, some type of pitcher (want to make iced tea), and an ice maker? I know this is ridiculously detailed, but I don't want to have to run to Wal-Mart and buy all this stuff. Thanks again for the help.

Yes, there is a cake pan, cookie sheet and a pitcher. I'm pretty sure I remember the freezer having an ice maker.

The closest grocery store is Publix. Turn right at the gatehouse onto Polynesian Isles Blvd. At the signal at 535 turn right. Publix is on the left side of the road just as 535 joins 192. I think it's about 1-2 miles, but it's been a while since I've driven it.

Anything else? :sunny:
