Thanks

I didn't realize Sunshine had a lobster roll. I know Columbia Harbor House and Tomorrowland Terrace have them in the Magic Kindom. I had the one at CHH and it was just OK. Too much mayo in my opinion. If I was to guess at what type of lobster they are using I would say it's a slipper lobster.

I've only tried the lobster roll at Columbia Harbour House and I did not care for it. That said, I am from New England so I have enjoyed many a quality lobster roll in my day!

I found the one at CHH to be swimming in mayo with a lobster flavor, but no real chunks of lobster. It seemed more blended and mixed, sorta like tuna salad. It wasn't terrible, but wasn't a real lobster roll in my opinion.

I'm not sure if the Sunshine Terrace lobster roll is made with the same stuff.

I too am from New England and ALMOST ordered it... then thought better of it. From the picture it is NOTHING like what I consider a lobster roll... which would NOT have mayo in it like that.

I'd say pass.

Thanks for the pictures....it looks like a sickening amount of mayo. I can only assume they use imitation lobster akin to imitation crab.

The price is sooo cheap for a lobster roll. I live on Long Island and a lobster roll made with real lobster chunks (not as chunky as Maine!) is around 18 to 20 dollars. If Disney says it is around $10 that is scary:scared1:

I tried the Columbia House "lobster" roll last August and it was horrendous  I am also from New England so I know a real lobster roll when I have one and this was definitely imitation  I took one bite and brought it back for a refund

Is it possible to get anything like a real lobster roll any place besides New England? Especially in Florida/Disney World? Even if you're willing to pay for it...I think the know-how just isn't there!

I think it just like anything else...if ya haven't had the real thing ya just don't know....

As a NY'er I am picky about my pizza and bagels. I'm sure all regions have their dish.

but if I had the jambalya at boatwrights, I may think it was the best. But I've never (sadly) been to New Orleans to try the real thing!(someday I will...its on the wish list!)

I do have to say, based on the pics of the lobster roll, no matter what is in there, they need to reduce the amount of mayo!!!! I wouldn't want my tuna or egg salad that soupy!

Hold out for the lobster roll during food and wine festival.
They are like 7 bucks but have several whole claws in them.
They counted as snack credits so i think i had 3 or 4 of them that week.
ask for extra butter to dip the sandwich into if you want it extra yummy and messy.

That's what I want! sigh..............

the PP is referring to the Food & Wine (F&W) Festival. So unless your trip coincides with it (select dates during the Fall) then you're kinda outta luck:sad1:

I hear that the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club has a pretty decent lobster roll at lunch time. That is a TS restaurant, a short 7-10 minute walk from the World Showcase. Not sure of the price.

For a comparison, here is a picture of the lobster roll from Captain's Grille. Looks VERY different than the CHH one:

Yep...that looks like a real lobster roll. Another New Englander here. We're from CT where we have ours with drawn butter, but the mayo version is the one and only in Maine. Either way, you would be looking at large chunks of lobster in a roll, just like this one.
