Sunshine First

Hiyas,

Can't comment on it yet, but we are using it on the return leg of our Holiday in June, I will post a full report to let you know :)

It sounds pretty good, and if the seat pitch is indeed 58" as I have seen advertised, then that is the same as UInited Business class, which is very comfy indeed.

Can't help yet, but will help in a bit :)

I haven't done this but if you can wait a couple of weeks you can ask Astrid when she gets back as they flew out on Sushine First.

That's Me!!! I'm here!!

Have just posted on an earlier thread re. Sunshine First.

Apart from our delay they were excellent. Far better legroom and generally bigger seats than Virgin Premium Economu.

The Cabin Crew were excellent (especially when Carys bless her threw up on landing! !). The food was served on china and in courses! Pre-book a child meal though if you want one, I didn't realise that and my two had to make do with the adult one.

The entertainment was great, a selection of 6 films and some cartoons plus radio stations to listen to.

I would definately use them again.

Astrid (having difficulty typing on the keyboard at Disney Quest!!) :)

Thanks Astrid!

Can't wait until we go next April. Glad to hear you thought it was worth the upgrade. Was the plane full?

Thanks for the information but may I ask:-

Did you get priotity check-in and in Florida did you get your luggage first?
Did you hire a car via TCD? If so was the collection process quick and easy? Any hints/tips?
May I ask what the meal on Sunshine First was?
Do the kids get a special entertainment pack e.g crayons/books.

We have booked for Feb 2004 in Sunshine First and any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks
CJ

Hello again!

Yes, we got priority check in at Gatwick and our luggage came off first at Sanford which was great - we were the first people at the Dollar counter so it was really quick leaving the airport.

We had a choice of main course meals - steak or a chicken dish, had a starter of prawn cocktail which was very nice and a cheesecake sort of dessert. There was champagne or orange juice served when we boarded the plane and the Sunshine First area was full (think it held about 22 seats), not sure about the rest of the plane. The meals were served on china (but plastic cutlery!). There were drinks offered throughout the flight and the flight crew were really helpful.

An icecream was offered and we had 'afternoon tea' even though because of our delay it was more like 'nighttime tea'!! Which was a warm ciabatta chicken/cheese roll (very nice) and a scone with jam and clotted cream. Tea and coffee etc.

We weren't first off the plane (unlike Premium Economy where they hold everyone else back while you get off!) but like I said we still got through everything really quickly.

One thing, they did do spot checks on suitcases at Gatwick and before checking them in some were taken away and opened - one of ours was, it was't too inconvenient though and the people were really nice.

As for the kids - make sure you order a kids meal if you want one. They just had a bag given to them with a colouring book, pen and pencils.

Think that's everything answered, if I can help with anything else just shout!

Astrid (typing from her bed at the Hard Rock Hotel - ah, this is the life!!)

Hello, I am travelling Sunshine First in August and was wondering if the films shown on the way out were the same as shown on the was back or do they have a different entertainment programme.
