I’ve searched through the threads and am really looking for a cut & dry statement of how to request a location. We have a reservation for a 2BR dedicated OV Villa in early October. What would I request with member services? We would like to look at the ocean straight on over the pool with the other two buildings on the side as well as be able to see the sunset from the balcony. We haven’t figured out how to put that into words as a request. Any advice and help is appreciated.

If you start by saying highest floor of Ewa Tower that’s a good start. Ours has a great view right now with a room that ends in 76. If you add even number that ends in the 70s, I think you’ll have it covered.

Thank you so much!

Since Aulani is kinda bit like a V shape with the lobby being in the middle of the V, the further out you are from the V, the better your ocean will view will be. I always just say as far away from the elevators as possible, as that is pretty much at the center of the V. And you can specific the side / view you want with the odd/even number rooms.

Great3

Just be aware that a high room, as far away from the center of the V can mean a long walk to get to/from your room. We had a great view on our last trip, but we were 3 rooms from the end of the Ewa tower, and walking all the way to the elevators and then back all the way to the beach, got pretty old, pretty quick. Especially on the return trip. I really don’t understand why they didn’t put elevators at the end of the building also.

This is the exact request you want.

"Room ending in 50, highest floor available."

50 is closest to the center of the V, making it the *furthest* from the ocean but the most direct. This is from 1450.

This is also on the end of the building, so you *also* get an island view if you look off to the right.

The rooms that meet your needs are:

50 (most direct, furthest from the ocean)
74 (closest to the elevators)
80
86 (least direct, closest to the ocean, furthest from the lobby and elevators)

That's it. And for the heck of it, here's why the others don't.

02, 08 - Face the inside of the V, but facing Southeast so poor Sunset view
87, 81, 60 - Face the outside of the V over the luau lawn
03, 09 - Face the outside of the V towards the Four Seasons

Can you elaborate on the odd/even numbers? I feel like I keep seeing to request an even number but I don’t know why. Thanks!

I will try to explain it better, but perhaps this website will help:

https://***********.com/resorts/aulani/rooms/

So, on the long portion of the Ewa and Waianae Tower, all the even number rooms are are on the inside of the V, facing the pools in the middle of the resort. All the odd number rooms are on the outside of the V. On the short portion of the Ewa Tower, the even number rooms face the ocean, while the odd number rooms face the island side.

Hope that makes much more sense, if not, hopefully the page link makes it more understandable than my words.

Great3

ETA: I guess my link got edited out, I can't properly credit the original authors. To find the page, search on google or your favorite search engine for Aulani Visual Room Finder and you should be able to find the link and pictures of the room info.
