Sunset Pointe at Poly

Please forgive my ignorance, but I have never stayed at the Poly but I have always wanted to. We have booked two nights there this summer before our Fantasy cruise, July 24-25. I have read that Sunset Pointe will be closed. Is this the only beach for viewing the MK fireworks? If this is unavailable, along with the possibility that the volcano pool may be closed, we may change to the WL.

You can still watch fireworks from the beach at the Poly. But yes the pool might be closed by then. I would recommend following along at the Poly construction update thread: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3110773

Sunset Point was beside the main beach. Sunset Point has effectively been removed but the main beach is still there and still a very good spot to watch the fireworks.

The volcano pool will likely be closed by then. However, the east pool will be available and Poly guests will be able to use the GF pools.

Sunset Pointe is not closed, it's gone. The amount of beach available to watch Wishes has been reduced quite a bit. Only the beach area directly in front of the Nanea volcano pool and the beach in front of Aotearoa will have good views for Wishes. But I don't think the beach in front of Aotearoa will have the music piped in. But even in front of the volcano pool you will have a partial view of the bungalo construction. I'm sure there wont be any actual construction taking place during Wishes though, of course.

The bungalows do not block the view except maybe the most easterly end. The fireworks take place well over them. The main beach is and will be ok and will have music.

The point isn't totally gone but it has been substantially modified. It has essentially been flattened and rounded.

The main beach view is and will be fine from about halfway in the middle of Hawaii Building to the volcano pool. The fireworks take place well above the bungalows. What will be affected is the Electric Water Pageant. It has been substantially modified because of the tight turn to the north the bungalows are forcing.

There is no music piped in to the beach in front of aotearoa.

The beach at sunset point is closed off, and the beach in front of Hawaii buildings is cordened off as far as I know. But there IS a stretch of beach further round between the Poly and the GF Luau Beach. Thats where the spirit of aloha show is. So you can still have a great view round there
