Has anyone stayed at the Sunset Vista Boulevard in Sunset Lakes? How close is it to WDW and was it good or just so so? I have been looking at WH so am trying to compare, the pricing is about the same... thanks!

Stayed on Sunset Lakes a few years ago.Nice community close to Disney. We took the back road down Funnie Steed and it was 5 mins to Animal Kingdom.

Good Morning,
We have the pleasure of staying in Sunset Lakes for 3 months in the winter and we just love it. It is much more laid back than WH and has no condos and a small community pool that is not heated in the winter. But all the homes have heated pools, so community pool is kind of a lonely place!
Homes are located in a big oval around a large lake so great views of the pool area of most homes. Here is google maps satellite view. If this does work try "sunset lakes kissimmee" in google maps.

SL is a much smaller community compared to WHills, Emerald Island, and the other big communities in the "Formosa Gardens Blvd" area. Homes were built in the early to mid 90's and are not fancy fancy but very nice, spacious, and comfortable. All homes in the area including WHIlls are furnished individually ranging from basic Florida to very high end. Check the pictures on the web site if that matters. Homes are close together side by side, so pool areas are pretty close. But this is typical in all Florida rental communities. Anyone can end up with a crazy neighbor for a week at any of the communities, but chances are you will either have an empty house or good folks. The home next to us was busy only 3 weeks out of 12 while we are there during slow season.
SL is easy access to Disney via 192 or the Sherberth shortcut. If you are going during a very busy time like Christmas let us know and I will give directions to use I-4 to get in and out without any hassle on 192 or even Sherberth shortcut. If going during non super peak times, access to Disney is a breeze.
The entrance is gated with a 4 number code access. Visitors can only access from the far west entrance via code. You can exit either the east or west entrance.
Again, we love SLakes. It is small, quiet, laid back, and the homes are perfect for a nice vacation with lots of room.
If you have a website of the home you are looking at I would be happy to give a few more thoughts based on the pictures. If the picture of the pool shows the lake, then you are around the oval somewhere probably on the south side with pool facing north. Sunset Vista Blvd runs east to west along the entire south side of the lake.
Also hear the fishing is good in the lake if so inclinded.

Hope this helps...Ted
